By Ngor Arol Garang
January 8,2010 (KHARTOUM) — General Anthony Bol Madut, Warrap ex-governor declined his initial intention to contest against incumbent governor Tor Deng Mawien for the same gubernatorial position at elections scheduled to take in April 2010.
“The whole state of Warrap has approached me many times to consider contesting this same position comes elections but I think it is not possible returning to the same refuse,” general Madut said.
“In our culture an elder of my caliber minces no words over something” he added.
“I am not contesting, because of anything but it is appropriate giving other people a chance to serve our people,” he stressed adding leadership is not one person all the time, it is all of us.
However the former governor declined to say who he supports among the contesting candidates, pointing out it is too early to disclose but will give his support to an SPLM selected candidate.
Lino Yual, an official from the state government, said two people have so far showed interest in contesting position of governor in the upcoming elections.
Martin Majut Yak who works in the office of the President of the government of Southern Sudan, General Salva Kiir Mayardit as director for presidential affairs, and Honorable Kuot Deng Reng and incumbent governor Tor Deng Mawien have made their intentions known for this position, he said.
Yak also said there are other people have recently appeared interested to contest the position but have not yet come out public. “They are also seeking public opinions,” he said.

Warrap Ex-governor declines intention to contest gubernatorial position
Dear Readers,
What a world!! Even the worst tribal-lord in Salva Kiir’s office, Martin Majut Yak is contesting for governorship in the south sudan’s poorest state(Warrap)? It can only happen with Kiir’s blessing who lacks the ability to recruit fair-minded leaders in the south. Anthony Bol Madut fairs better than that worst tribalist(Majut Yak). But that is upto Warrap residents if all they want is corrupted, tribal fanatic-Yak to be their governor.

Warrap Ex-governor declines intention to contest gubernatorial position
Hon. Bol Madut is wise enough to decline his intention to contest for a gubernatorial post. I strongly support his idea, but for different reason. He is fit for his current job as minster for his own home-affairs! I think we had enough of his tyranny during his undeserved tenure. Returning to the same seat is next to impossibility. The guy needs to learn from an exemplary leader who is yet to occupy this position soon. H.E. Martin Mayut Yak, the people’s next governor in Warrap state.

ex governor bol madut is right, give other people chance to run, governing is not only confined to one person or to specific individual, give other people chance to show their experience, skills and talents on laedership, what Warrap state need most is a leader who will first unite the people of the state, bring security allover the state, introduce a strick rule of law and constitutional authority, start quick development activity like farming, education and health. you vote for a person because he will make life better, you do not vote for a person just because you know them or because they are from your family, you vote for a political leader who has a vision and who outlines his vision to the public.
