Iran willing to enhance cooperation with Sudanese police
January 8, 2009 (KHARTOUM) – Iran’s police showed readiness to enhance cooperation and to transfer its experience to the Sudanese police.
The deputy chief coordinator of Iranian police, Commander Alireza Jazini, praised the good relations between Iran and Sudan expressing the readiness of the Islamic Republic’s police force in order to enhance bilateral police ties.
“The Iranian police is ready to dispatch its specialists to Sudan. It can also organise short specialist training courses in Tehran for a number of Sudanese police officials,” Jazini said.
“This includes areas of combating organised crime such as human trafficking, narcotics, terrorism, money-laundering etc.”
The Iranian official mad these remarks after a meeting with the visiting Sudanese Police Operational police general Kamal Eddin Jaafar Osman Al-Hassan.
The Sudanese police official said they are interested in the use of some of the police equipment produced in Iran.
He further stressed “Islamic Republic of Iran and Sudan are two friendly and fraternal nations which share a common religion, policies and have common enemies.”
“They have to widen cooperation in this sphere,” he added.
