By Ngor Arol Garang

January 11,2010 (KHARTOUM)-SPLM office in Southern State of Northern Bahr el Ghazal has released 73 names of nominees aspiring for parliamentary seats at the State level, Juba, and National Assembly in Khartoum.

Three from 73 aspirants are for gubernatorial position with incumbent governor Paul Malong Awan Anei leading the list of the contestants with remarks saying the final nomination to be decided by political Bureau, the highest body in the SPLM hierarchy.

However, according to Electoral College popularity rating obtained by Sudan Tribune, the governor is given popularity rate of 100%, followed by Jal Malith Jal with 84% and General Dau AturJong Nyuol being the last with 79%

The Electoral College rating serves as primary base for referral by Political bureau making him the best candidate to be picked by the leadership.

The State SPLM Electoral College in Northern Bahr el Ghazal also named 29 geographical constituency aspirants for parliamentary seats remaining in Aweil town, 7 on party list, 12 on women list, and 5 on geographical constituency list for National Assembly in Khartoum with one on party list and 2 on women list while Juba list contains 9 from geographical constituency with two on party list.

Jacob Yel Garang, who chairs Electoral College supervised by the two representatives from the SPLM head office in Juba, told Sudan Tribune the week long selection exercise was conducted with honesty.

“We devoted our time for fairness by giving appropriate rating based on popularity of each candidate in the area,” he said.

He called on the local population to give their supports to the successful nominees during election saying these are the same people they selected to represent their affairs in various places in the country.

“Do not let them down during elections while contesting with candidates from other political parties,” he said.

Great Job NBG citizens. I really support governor who can support aggression and the one free from NCP agency.

Anyway, There is sad news that Dinka from Warrap State( East) have been attack by Nuer again and there is fighting going on right now. This is a second attack to the incident that kill 140.

JUBA, Sudan (AFP) New clashes erupted on Monday between two rival tribes in south Sudan, a military official said, with an independent local source reporting that at least 45 people had been killed in the fighting.
“We have information that civilians from Mayom county in Unity State have attacked a village in Gogrial-east county of Warrap State,” said Kuol Deim Kuol, spokesman for the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement, a former rebel group which now acts as an army in the semi-autonomous south.

He said that members of the Nuer tribe attacked Dinka villagers but he was unable to give an immediate casualty toll. “We don’t have the full details,” he said.

However an independent local source said dozens of people were killed and wounded in the clashes.

“The combat left 45 people dead and 102 wounded,” the source said on condition of anonymity.

The toll could not be confirmed by officials in the area.

Clashes between Nuer and Dinka tribes over cattle raids in the southern state of Warrap claimed at least 140 lives at the turn of the year, prompting the United Nations to call for an investigation.

Good job. I wish for Northern Baher Gazal citizen to choice their leaders wisely. The leaders that anger to concentrate on development through improvement of health care, education, and eradication of starvation instead to concentrate on their own interest.

    Thanks

I am particularly writing on this website to thank the people of Equatoria for their maturity in security issues. It is indeed, their tranquillity that let it be called a GOSS today, otherwise the so-called government of south sudan would have collapsed long time ago if its seat was in Dinkaland. It would have been disturbing if its seat was placed in Rumbek as it was suggested previously.

I am here to encourage u brothers and sisters in Equatoria. Take ur time and develop ur area. It is good that we have a federal system where resources are divided in term of states and each state has its own budgetting schedules to develop its resources. I encourage all of u to increase mango forestation and don’t leave any Dinka or Nuer to settle without paying the cost of the land. All Dinkas and Nuers who value life are currently in Equatoria. Do that in a smart way including tabling motion in the parliament to debate land issues. Leave the slogan that Dinkas or Nuers should go to their homes. Use their wealth, they are the foolish majority with no aim at all.

Dinka and Nuer are the most confused ethnic groups in South Sudan. They are so conservative that they don’t think what works in their life and situation. While changes are being embraced in different parts of the world, these groups seem to be totally engrossed in wealth of cattle. One thing these communities should understand is that, a value of a cow doesn’t even worth two meals in Newyork. It is nothing!!! and even educated Dinkas and Nuers know this fact.

We have been so skeptical in our history that arab is holding us back but we don’t know what is good for us.

    Ngor Arol:

Your rating doesn’t much political opinion polls. You gave 100% already to Malong, but you continue to give 84% and 79%. you need to combine the numbers and come up with one result by distributing the numbers among three candidates in orders to meet 100%.

Congratulation Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.
The worse state in South Sudan will be the Lakes State in term of nomination where people with chicken brain are involved in electoral college. the guys are bribed like hell, the worse part of it is the chairperson of the 25 people that make up the college, Mr Abraham Meen Kuc,is a beggar who have not attained and certificate of any Educational level being a primary or high school. Philip Marol Mading and Mathing Ker are the crooks of all that will cause disaster in the state.
I don’t understand why was the electrol college formed in the first place if Abraham Meen Kuc, Mathiang Ker and Philip Marol Mading altered what 24 people came out with.
Meen Kuc, when you are assigned to a national obligation, you need to be careful and do the right thing for the state and the country as a whole. you were not given the task in order to get rich over night of (V8 car)Mith Apuol, the luxurious car that will reached Rumbek today from Juba as a promise by Paul Mayom Akec and Deng Athorbei just to alter the original work of the committee in Palm Tree Hotel.
Shame on Meen Kuc, Mathiang Ker and Philip Marol Mading.
