India’s PSL wins Steel Pipe order from Sudanese oil
BOMBAY, April 22, 2004 (India Infoline) — Indian oil equipment maker PSL Ltd has been awarded with an International Prestigious Contract for export of 785 Kms 32″ diameter API 5L X -70 Grade of Steel Pipes duly coated with 3 Layer Polypropylene system to Sudan.
The contract has been awarded by Sudanese Oil & Gas Company, Petrodar for its Melut Basin Oil Development Project and is valuing US$198mn (approx. Rs9bn).
The Melut Basin Oil Development Project saw bids from 14 international bidders from countries like Brazil, Malaysia China along with European big bulls like Corinth Pipe of Greece and Mannesman from Germany amongst others.
PSL emerged as the only Indian supplier to offer spiral welded pipes duly coated at a competitive price along with a Chinese firm to procure the order.

The order will be executed in five PSL mills located in Kandla and source HR coil for manufacturing the pipes from various Indian and international steel firms.
