Maintain Arman candidacy for Sudanese presidency

By Koang Tut Jing

February 6, 2010 — The National Congress Party’s latest political maneuvering must not blindfolds the SPLM from looking outside the box. The endorsement of Kiir by the NCP leadership is politically calculated by the party’s highest decision makers to captivate support from SPLM secessionists section whose aim and sight are short-lived ones. This group in SPLM needs to know that the NCP is just playing it political card cleverly.

Nearly six years of the Interim Period has vanished but almost all the Protocols signed for in the Comprehensive Peace Agreement have not been implemented. Why would this time, Bashir make a U-turn and allow a smooth referendum? CPA implementation is being hindered intentionally. My fellow citizens from the South, our grand-fathers and ourselves have been fooled hips of times since 1947. SPLM under late Garang did not accept to be lured into Khartoum Peace Agreement because he knew there was no single truth in it.

Vice President Ali Osman Taha came to Juba recently to cunning the current SPLM leadership by making empty promise that he does not hold. Southerners — thinking Bashir and Taha are the gate to Independent Southern Sudan, — are gravely mistaken and surely way off the road. The true change will only come if SPLM maintains it principles and objectives that the movement pursued for more than two decades in the bush. I strongly believe that pushing a side NCP and its leadership lies is the concrete solution for the Sudanese crises.

Bashir and the NCP as I can imagine, they are truly the chaos in the Sudan. There is no reason why the petition of Sudan under Bashir and NCP could be peaceful. My fellow Sudanese, the oil in the South Sudan will indeed be a cause of war no matter how we want to sugar-coat this. The borders are not demarcated; the surge for tribal fighting is a reality that must not leave us so long as NCP and Bashir exist in the Sudan. The SPLM-DC is another NCP tool used against SPLM just like the Southern Sudanese loyal to NCP, who are fully armed and ready at any time to carry out a proxy war at the event of hostility breakout.

The NCP endorsement of Kiir for South Sudan presidency is a mere deception. SPLM must fully stand behind Yasir Arman candidacy and vote for him in April election.

My fears if there is any understanding with NCP, the crises and the agony in Sudan will never be solved given how the Bureau messed up the situation in recent decisions it’s made. “Endorsing Bashir in order to ensure that the NCP grant the South Sudanese a smooth path to referendum and secession”, will indeed be a myth. NCP is a dangerous regime that must be removed.

Nothing will ever be smooth with the presence of NCP in power. The problem is NCP. After all, national debts, border demarcation, water and international agreements are problems which are not easy to solve. Regrettably, the current conflict we witness between Eritrea and Ethiopia is surely the descending scenario. The NCP will need to take some parts of southern Sudan, will the South watch idly? Abyei, Nuba Mountain and southern Blue Nile are still possible flush points as long as Bashir remains in power. Southern Sudan separatists must look beyond their toes and fully support Yasir Arman because in him lies the solution for the Sudanese conflict.

    Dear Mr. Tut Jing,
great assertion, we south Sudanese must understand, and think out side the box. Any attempt to let down Yasir Arman is a failure to obtain freedom, and peace in the South. The NCP regime will continue to to attempt all sort of tricks to fool SPLM. It is too late for NCP to twist it around. The South Sudanese are awake today, will not be blindfolded whatsoever. Mr. Taha is trying to play with fire, he should not plays unnecessay tricks in this process and especially when we are at the peak of achieving our full freedom. I give my vote to Yasir Arman for the President of the Republic of Sudan. South Sudan must rise with hope for the better. My love to my country, and my people.

Thanks you Koang Tut Jing.”gat mi caa dap ee Nuer laa tee kee car mi goa”.all you said will happen as long as Bashir will still be on chair.my fear is that if our president Salva kiir Mayardit will get asleep for his being appointed for southern sudan presidential post,Bashir will play a great role on us the southern sudan people,if not Bashir will stand far away from us.going to war with arab of north sudan is some thing in doubt.the border demarcation, the oil in land of southern sudan and the like will bring again war.SPLM-DC of Dr Lam Akol is the right wing of Bashir to kill southern sudan people.oh!! the people of south sudan that will be killed including shilluk, where Lam will go with Bashir? to assure the people of southern sudan don’t give room to Lam Akol, let we all vote for Kiir who have the love for his people and hate the betrayer Lam Akol who betray the people of southern sudan for his own benefit to Arab.
