Sudanese opposition agree to coordinate in April elections
February 7, 2010 (KHARTOUM) – The Sudanese opposition parties have agreed on a joint plan to coordinate among their bases in the upcoming elections to defeat the candidates of the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) at all levels.
The parties comprised of the Juba conference participants held in Juba last year will meet on Monday with the presence of the Sudan People Liberation Movement (SPLM) which is the junior partner in the government of national unity.
The coalition spokesperson Farouk Abu Essa said that the parties are close to endorsing the list of candidates for the parliament and governors.
Essa said that the NCP is “extremely hostile to democracy and national movements” in addition to “opposition defectors” which he described as “ugly propagandists” to the ruling party and a “whip on the back of the opposition”.
There are currently 145 candidates from the various parties running for governor with 51 independent; 1958 for parliament from the parties with 418 independent; for the Legislative Council of southern Sudan, 396 from parties and 107 independents.
The Umma Reform and Renewal Party (URRP) leader Mubarak Al-Fadil said that Sudanese president Omer Hassan Al-Bashir running for reelection will not be able to win from the first round and will lose in the second round against a unified candidate from the opposition.
Al-Fadil added that Bashir does not have a popular base or political support and is relying on a “divided totalitarian party”. He warned that the NCP may resort to rigging the elections to avert this scenario.
However, the NCP political office Ibrahim Ghandour dismissed Al-Fadil remarks saying that the opposition presidential candidates will get no more than 35% of the votes with Bashir winning 65%-75%.
Ghandour added that a survey conducted last year showed that Bashir will receive 96% of the votes.
The Sudan Tribune online poll conducted over the last week showed that 7.5% of the 21,642 readers that took part favored Bashir with 46.6% of the votes going to Umma Party leader Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi and 39% to Yasir Arman from the SPLM.
A separate poll made by the Arabic language Sudanile online portal showed 52.9% of the 16,794 votes going to Bashir, 19.3 to Al-Mahdi and 16.8% to Arman.

South Sudan is already hijacked by those opposition parties.
SPLM were partner with NCP since they signed the CPA as a symbol of peace between them, however SPLM now want to betray NCP by making coalition with other parties instead of follow their CPA agreem. If we just ask simple question. Who was not in power from those opposition parties, but what kind of problem they have tried to solve between north and south? not at all. So who will lose the game between NCP or SPLM? Iam worry that SPLM will lose the game because you can not play game with your manager. Also SPLM not should think its can get children from other families like eighty who can fight war again.
This CPA is valuable for all nations of Sudan specially southerns. If you mess it up then blam you god.
Talking about separation while nominee northern.

The so-called opinion poll was introduced by the Sudan tribune site in order to portray the fake popularity of Bashir. I am sure the percentage given here does not include any voter from South Sudan. No Southerner can offer his vote to Bashir in an opinion poll. The man has no chance this time if the Sudanese Opoosition parties are really committed to co-ordinating in order to relieve our beloved Country of this terrorist.

Will this plan work really? I doubt of that agreement made. The opposition parties should not talk of that before they convince Lamakol or Dr.Lam Akol to joint Kiir for betterness ofcountry.

The online voting sudantribune is saying had conducted is not right because I have voted more than ten times. Whenever you unplogged your computer and reopened again the computer can let you vote again so where is the logic of saying Bashir and Yasir are been overvoted by Saddic? For me whenever I go to do my assignment at school library and uses its computers. I voted as much as I needed so long I move to different computers. Sudanese should not let themselves be decieved by survaying result published on Sudantribune. It is not accurant
