Sudan official news agency (SUNA) said that the Arab League delegation meeting with Bashir included its Secretary General Amr Moussa, who briefed the president on the outcome of their Darfur visit and the meeting held in North Darfur capital city of Al-Fasher.

Bashir on his end praised the efforts being carried out by the Arab League in supporting the humanitarian situation in Darfur, adding that the elections in Sudan will be a strong boost the stability in Sudan.

In Darfur, Moussa inaugurated a number of villages funded by the Arab states and pledging further support for development and rehabilitation in the region.

The Arab League summit held in March 2009 in Doha decided to allocate 8 million dollar monthly during one year For Darfur reconstruction and rehabilitation; also the Arab leaders urged Arab aid organizations to boost their activities there.

In their addresses at the opening of their extraordinary meeting in Al-Fasher, the ambassadors stressed the importance of implementation of income improvement projects in Darfur and affirmed their readiness to support the efforts for realizing peace in Darfur.

Bashir told the Arab delegation that Darfur issue was escalated by forces that do not want Sudan to enjoy peace and stability. He noted a Darfur reconstruction conference to be held in Egypt this year.

Darfur rebels and some critics called the Arab League move as an attempt to boost Bashir ahead of the presidential elections. However, the Arab League Secretary General denied that saying the elections is an internal matter to be decided by Sudanese voters.

Why waste time to meet with a criminal. With all the resources we have in Sudan, we can support most of the villages and provide the funds to the people of Darfur.
According to “The Arab League summit held in March 2009 in Doha they said they have allocate 8 million dollar monthly during one year For Darfur reconstruction and rehabilitation; also the Arab leaders urged Arab aid organizations to boost their activities there”. This is all rubbish. We don’t need their money. What we need in Sudan is good government that respects all human dignity. Government that cares and promotes programs all over Sudan.
Where are these funds going? Are the people of Darfur getting what they were promised? How much money are we getting out of the Oil fields in Sudan? Don’t you thing we can support the programs? We don’t need empty promises.
Arab League should leave Sudan alone. Instead of talking about giving money, why can they talk of bring peace to the region. It is enough for Bashir and it is time for him to go.
