Security forces storm Bakosoro compound in Maridi
March 18, 2010 (MARIDI, WES) — Security forces stormed on Thursday morning the compound where are the Western Equatoria independent candidate, Joseph Bakosoro, and his campaign team in Maridi.
Bakosoro’s bodyguards, who are provided by the commissioner of police in Yambio, were disarmed and arrested by the soldiers.
Bakosoro’s campaign manager, Mr. Angelo Bakote, in a statement to Sudan Tribune reassured no body has been harmed including Joseph Bakosoro.
“Bakosoro is fine,” he said, adding “We would like to urge the supporters of Bakosoro that he is safe and they should be calm. We are all doing fine. We are in contact with NEC.”
Asked about why the bodyguards were arrested, he said ignoring the motive and the instigator.
“We do not know what and who is behind the move,” he said.

How dare this happened? I know Mr. Kiir and Mrs. Kumbo the corrupted governor of Western equatoria must be behind such a move. Kiir knows clearly that, Mrs. kumbo is going to loss the coming election and hence Kiir’s objectives are going to be met in Western Equatoria. Kiir should not force this on Western Equatoria people, we have our own choices.
Do you know a year or two, this governor tried to scape with millions of dollars to Uganda, but likely she was red hand caught. Her government has embezzled millions of dollars from Western Equatoria, therefore, she has to go, we don’t need her again. The people of Western Equatoria has lost hope in her. We need new ideas, new development.

The attack against Joseph Baskosoro is well organized by Kiir’s team. They did this also to Popular Candidate in Unity state Angelina Teny. They want to kill the chosen Leaders before even the election take place.The independent candidates are people choice then nominees nominated by so call SPLM political Bureau.
Just to say briefly to Security force who are against independent candidates in South Sudan, these candidates will win election as they are the people’s choice.
There are five Independent candidates for Governorship of Unity, WES,Jonglei and Northern Bharelghal.
I Believe Gen. Dau for Aweil, Angelina Teny for Unity state, Gen.George Athor for Jonglei, Alfred Gore for Central E. and Col. Joseph for WES are our next Governors without any objection.
Kiir and his team will cry soon. Kiir has no supporters in Unity state. He failed to address rally on monday. people of Unity state refused him. Taban Deng Gai, the incumbent Governor will leave Unity state on 18- April as the result will announc by National Election commission. Those are who depending on Unity state resources will admit to the hospital especially people of WARRAB State.
