Kiir pledges to reintegrate independent candidates after election

By Ngor Arol Garang

March 24, 2010 (RENK) — SPLM Chairman Salva Kiir Mayadrit who is also its candidate for Southern Sudan Presidency, said would consider welcoming back of independent candidates after April election.

Kiir made public this statement during an electoral meeting held in Aweil, the capital Northern Bahr El-Ghazal state on Wednesday. The rally was massively attended by the population as the shops and other commercial stands in the market were closed down by the authorities.

Many aspirants from the southern Sudan ruling party decided to break away from the SPLM and to pose their candidacies as independent candidates refusing the selection made by party’s political bureau. All of them contested the party’s decision and said popular among their supporters.

In a first time the party considered to allow them to run for the elections besides the official candidates, but finally it was decided to exclude them. However, many of the independents call to vote for Salva Kiir and Yasir Arman, SPLM candidates for Southern Sudan presidency and presidency of the Republic.

“I need you to elect leaders and representatives of your choice. Those are your people. People who would represent you at all levels with requirements and abilities, Kiir said. He also revealed that SPLM would consider welcoming back independent candidates after elections, successful or unsuccessful for them.

But Kiir was quick to say he did not come to Aweil to discuss political future of the independent candidates adding he will call some of them once returned to Juba so as to discuss some of the political matters based on their strengths.

“I will, once returned in Juba, call some of them but now I am for different mission” said Kiir, reiterating his position to accept and respect choice of the local people.

Dr. Dhieu Mathok Diing Wol, an independent candidate who attended the rally, said President Salva Kiir gave out encouraging speech.

“His words were encouraging and covey meaningful message to the electorates,” he said adding it is now incumbent upon our voters to elect leaders of their choice without succumbing to social segregation based parental or sectional linkage.

“Our people and contestants should now embrace the similar tune of the president in all their political activities to make the upcoming election a peaceful exercise acceptable to all,” he said.

The president who addressed his electoral rally in the town also traveled to Malek Alel, headquarters of Aweil South County, where a political rally of the independent candidates was banned by county authorities recently.

Abraham Aleu, commissioner of the area reportedly said was not informed in advance prior to the conduct of the rally. “I have no problem with conduct of the rally of independent candidates but a notification of it should have been sent to me so other arrangements including security at the rally are provided, he said.

However, former Deputy Governor, Athian Teng Angok, who had twice held county commissioner post, regards it as lame excuse. “We are aware of rigorous behaviors of some officials and so made it a commitment to always inform local authorities from where our electoral rally would be held,” he said. “We, through electoral commission branch office, have sent out information letter giving out detail of our rally but no response was received,” he adds.

“How can they say they were not informed,” he posed?

Kiir pledges to reintegrate independent candidates after election
    Dear Readers,

Kiir is painfully & slowly learning real politik. But with so much political hypocrisy!! First, Kiir let the independent candidates dismissed at his watch by his corrupted PB. Now, the same wicked, and corrupted PB is intact. So, how can he reinstate the independent candidates with that corrupted PB intact? Plus, why do it after violence post-election? Why NOT NOW? He also needs to quit flip-flopping defending where he speaks. It was different in Equatoria, Unity, Jonglei, Upper Nile. Why so much hypocrisy on political geography of south sudan?

This is a good step, regain your popularity and authority. Now it is clear that the communist clique of Pagan/Arman is very unpopular, you have to listen to the voice of the people and get rid of them immediately.

I can see they are camaigning alone in the north, not for once did the SG of the SPLA campaigned for you.He cannot campaign even in his home county, where he has been totally rejected.

Safe, stable, prosporous and secure South Sudan is vital for the whole Sudan. These Marxist adventurist will not allow this to happen easily!

Kiir pledges to reintegrate independent candidates after election
    Dear readers

I believe that everybody is a wake and following each and every statement made by our incumbent president: Now in Aweil, the seat of the Independents, Kiir was scared to have another Bentiu type campaign, otherwise what do you make of this:

“In a first time the party considered to allow them to run for the elections besides the official candidates, but finally it was decided to exclude them. However, many of the independents call to vote for Salva Kiir and Yasir Arman, SPLM candidates for Southern Sudan presidency and presidency of the Republic.”

“I need you to elect leaders and representatives of your choice. Those are your people. People who would represent you at all levels with requirements and abilities, Kiir said. He also revealed that SPLM would consider welcoming back independent candidates after elections, successful or unsuccessful for them.

Is this a kind of a politil hip hop or it just doesn’t matter whatever one says, provided that you don’t change your name. now is Kiir himself not saying that he himseld would have run as an independent candidate should the situations warrant that.

Now the president is one leg in SPLM, one leg in Independent candidate, one hand in SPLM-DC and the other in sudanse opposition alliance.

the question that begs here is: Is visionlessness becoming itself some people’s vision? OK then some of us can now vote comfortably, after all going by Kiir’s example , at the end of the day we are all southerners.

This is absolutely correct to call back independence to serve in their various paositions wether they win or lose the elections, southerners have to concentrate on working working together, no one has time for senseless confrontations that only waste people time, so we all have to support the president in this call.

Kiir pledges to reintegrate independent candidates after election
    Great speech Mr. President
All the people of ten States have right to elect the leaders of their choice.

I am sure the independent candidates will win this election.

After the election these independent candidates will form democracy government that will work for all citizens of Southern Sudan.

These independent candidates are also the one who formed SPLA/SPLM.

They change it at any time.

All people across the country are sick tired of SPLA party.
A vote for Independent candidates is a vote for peace, development and future of your children and your country.

A vote for SPLA candidates is a vote for raping, looting, stealing, killing of civilians and destruction of the country.
Take a look of what is going on around the country ,especially the incidence of Rumbeck where Paramount chief and his subchiefs who were killed by SPLA and burned them in the house instead burying them.
It is time for change or this country gonna run red with blood if you don’t make change.

SPLA is full of political criminal corruption.
    Thanks

    Dear readers,
President Salva Kiir Mayardit is learning more and quick to be wise at the moment toward seperation of the Southern Sudan State ! Why ? Because of two principles that he had settled by himself a lone without his Party members?

1- IGAD MEETING IN NAIROBI, CAPITAL CITY OF KENYA ! Whereby H.E President Salva Kiir refused for election extension and requesting if election expected to be extended therefore expect seperation and referrendum of Southern Sudan as State by the year 09/01/2011.

2-REINTEGRATION OF INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES AFTER ELECTION RESULTS !These two things met him wiseman before our votes for first as elected President of the Government of Southern State by the middle of April,2010.Yes thank you Salva Kiir Mayardit, this what The Late Dr John Garang knowns of you before us and his air crash living us with you to be our leader after him !.Please GO A HEAD AND DOUBLE YOUR EFFORTS FOR SOUTHERN SUDAN STATE.
