Sudanese, Chadian ruling parties issue joint communiqué
KHARTOUM, April. 27, 2004 (SUNA) — The National Congress and the Chadian ruling National Salvation Movement Tuesday signed a final communiqué by the end of their talks in Khartoum.
The final communiqué was signed by the Secretary of the National Congress’ External Relations Department, Dr. Kamal Obeid, and the Secretary of the Information and Communication Department at the Chadian ruling National Salvation Movement, Gamar Al-Selaik.
The two sides agreed to hold a meeting of the joint Political Committee of them during May 27 – 30. They also agreed to reactivate implementation of the joint programmes of Youths and Women Secretariats, within the context of the coordination between the two parties.
The communiqué has praised the great efforts of the President of Chad, Idris Deby, toward boosting the security and stability in Darfur states.
The communiqué referred to the endeavours of the Sudanese National Congress and the Chadian National Salvation Movement for consolidating the ties between the two sister nations.
It has denounced the hostile campaign which aims to distort the image of Sudan abroad.
In a press statement to SUNA, the Secretary of External Relations Department at the National Congress, Dr. Kamal Obeid, said that the National Congress is keen to cement its relations with the ruling party in Chad, through implementation of the agreements and protocols which were signed between them and reactivation of the joint cooperation mechanisms.
Dr. Obeid has hailed the efforts of sister Chad for boosting Sudan peace process. Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Information and Communication Department at the Chadian National Salvation Movement, Gamar Al-Selaik, commended the endeavours of Sudan government to realize stability and peace in Darfur states.
