Sudan denies acquiring nuclear technology
KHARTOUM, April 28, 2004 (Sudan Tribune) — The Sudan acting minister for external relations, Al-Najib al-Khayr Abd al-Wahab, has downplayed reports of US fears that Sudan has acquired nuclear technology.
A US government report published yesterday, raised concerns that China, Iran, Russia and the Sudan have not fully declared their chemical weapons programs.
Sudanese official said international community was aware Sudan was a member of the political forum, comprising states which had signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NNPT).
Abdal Wahab further indicated the international community was also aware of the extent of Sudan’s adherence to the articles of the initiative (NNPT) and that it was a member of all the accords to curb the spread of international and regional terrorism.
