“I will be the president of all the Southern Sudanese citizens during my term, Kiir said adding he will not let the euphoria of his victory affects his judgment and delivery of what he promised the electorate during his campaigns.

The National Election Commission (NEC) today declared SPLM’s candidate and chairman, Salva Kiir Mayardit as the winner of the contest for the presidency of the Government of Southern Sudan (GOSS) in the 2010 elections.

Announcing the results, the NEC chairman Abel Alier said that H.E. Kiir won the seat with a landslide garnering 2,616,613 votes, constituting 93 percent of the votes cast. His only challenger, Dr Lam Akol Ajawin only managed a paltry 197,217, which is a measly 7 percent of the votes.

Delivering his acceptance speech in Juba, the president-elect thanked the people of Southern Sudan for entrusting him with the esteemed position. He also commended them for maintaining peace during the electioneering period and urged them to maintain the same spirit into the future.

“The trust you have bestowed upon me is immense and I can assure you that I’ll not disappoint you”, he said. He also admitted that the responsibilities of the presidency cannot be delivered by one individual but through concerted efforts of all the patriotic citizens of the Southern Sudan.

He also encouraged those who may have lost in the elections not to succumb to the sorrow of the loss but join the rest of the citizens in developing Southern Sudan. Nonetheless, he assured all the citizens that he will not discriminate anyone during his tenure. “I will be the president of all the Southern Sudanese citizens during my term,” he emphasized.

Mr. Kiir has the mandate but only because there was no credible alternative. Southerners were forced to choose a lesser of two evils….Kiir. He has turned SPLM into some weakened party populated by former traitors and must be vigilant if he is to be taken seriously.

He must now show southerners his resolve to fight corruption in the South. His own kitchen cabinet must be disbanded and replaced with true patriots.

Great speech President Salva Kiir. We South Sudanese can not manage to elect traitor to serve us during the hard time awaiting.

We want you more than others think and we also need dedicated governors because they are the same heros( Lt generals during the war to response) to any aggression, but not those who shift from place to place. This agreat journey for SPLM because we all got the heros we all want to face the NCP aggression if the want.

I believed that in the South, there is not wide room for traitors because they are backward thinkers and losers. I want the new elects to let their people know that this time is the time for dedication and not the one of shifting and alternating bewteen the enemies.
Please the others who are intending to run couple of years need to think for their roles in SPLM and at large South Sudan.

It was obvious that Salva Kiir Mayardit will win the election because he serve his people without being paid just an offer of lives. We have to thanks to our late hero Dr John Garang de Mabior for his efforts during the dark time and now he brought South Sudanese and the other marginalized people the light now-called democracy.

Who know democracy before in the entire South Sudan? But Dr Garang bout it and we have 100% of his repect for ever. Dr Garang, Salva, Wani, and the rest endure the hard time and they really stood firm until the signing of CPA. I respect our heros for their job finished.
    Thanks

Congratulations to the SPLM. Victory is always for those who are always willing to serve their people.

My only surprise is that where did Lam Akol get those hundred and ninety thousands votes? I can’t believe that there are people in South Sudan who have the gut to vote for Lam, the man who wants to sit on us so that we can be second class citzens in the so-called Sudan forever. Lam does not deserve even a spoil ballot paper from the people of South Sudan. He has already sold his share to Bashir.

    Mr Kur,

Those who vote for DR Lam Akol are obvious. They are his SPLM-DC supporters and those weak heart who fought against SPLM for decades.
I knew them but they can not do something harmful to South Sudanese. Let them continue with weak heart that will take them nowhere.

    Parajok and Thieling,

My friends, you need to take some leadership courses in the upper institutions to help your reasoning capability. Governor Taban Deng Gai won the election, why not you just stop your childish crying and support him in Unity State. Why Nuer in Unity State are always crying about 2% oil revenue, who benefits with this if not Unity State.

This is why i really see some of you as baseless because most of you guys has no core reasoning ability other you guys should asked yourself what is the connection of Taban and Salva in term of 2%? .How did the two of them take those share between themsleves.

Second, why do you called Governor Taban as Dinka Slave if you are not barking dog in the wilderness.

Many people knows that none of you respect leaders. How many leaders from your own people killed by you let alone others because of power greed?. You always killed your own sons because of finite stuffs, and that was the reason you guide the oil field for arab and killed your own innocents people.

How many factions you guys have and it happens due to the disagreement of leadership. Leadership is only acquired through leadership style and birth, but it should not be acquired through noise, fight,or any other dehumanized activities. It’s time to learn guys because this time will varied and their will be nothing like stealing the properties.

Democracy will be here and the only people who will benefits are those with leadership style.

Prepared yourself for the best other you will complaint till Jesus come on the Earth if you refuse to accept the truth of live. Now, can you see from WES. Thier independent candidate won the election, why? are you also blaming SPLM because of his win in WES. This shows that SPLM is fair other this independent would also lose like your candidate.

Please attempt to reason like human being who had attained 8th grade.
    Thanks

Thanks you president Kiir,if you promise all in your heart that you will not discriminates between people of southern sudan and you will rule over them[people of southern sudan] equally.I will belief it as you said to leave discrimination among people, because discrimination others is an innate to many people of Bhar-el-gazal inclding you, then leave it as you promise.lead our people equally and rubs out the Dinka idealogies as they look unto you as only their president not for southerners in large, that is a kind of discrimination.long live SPLM!! long live president Salva Kiir Mayardit!!!!!!!!!!!!.
