Sudan’s electoral commission admits to vote rigging in the East

May 9, 2010 (KHARTOUM) — An official in Sudan’s National Elections Commission (NEC) has acknowledged that investigation into a YouTube video revealed two cases of vote rigging and vowed to prosecute those responsible.

fraud.jpgThe unidentified NEC source told the pro-government Al-Rayaam newspaper that the probe was launched after a formal complaint was lodged with the electoral body stressing that this shows the “integrity of the elections”.

Last month, a video was posted to YouTube showing NEC staff filling out the ballots and putting them inside the boxes leading opposition to blast the authorities and emphasize that is solid proof over the unfairness of the polls which concluded last month.

However, the NEC officials at the time dismissed the video as fabricated and rejected calls for investigation before later reversing its position upon receiving a challenge from an unidentified party.

The April multi-party polls, the first in 24 years saw President Omar Hassan Al-Bashir reelected despite an international arrest warrant on war crimes charges allegedly committed in Darfur.

The credibility of the election was undermined by major opposition boycotts, allegations of fraud and questions from international monitors about transparency.

The NEC official told the newspaper that the staff in charge of two polling stations would be brought to trial after irregularities in the said constituency has been exposed. However, he left it to court on whether the election results in these two stations would be recognized.

Indeed Election had passed that is why Mr. Abel Alier is admitting this cases, where was he and the team when these accusation first appeared on the youtube?
he sould not play the game we already knew they had with NCP/NIF, it is too late the result has been annouced already.
But they should not try any attampts to cheat the referandomresult in the favour of Unity, because we can still decide on our future through Unilateral decleation of south sudan independence

Sudan’s electoral commission admits to vote rigging in the East
    dear all

its has been very clear before the election started that, the northerners attempted to buy the election cards from the southerners and the different parties. so was that to be called free and fair election?
we southerners had done our part through 93% as south sudan presidency was by kirr suceesfuly . my advise to these gay arabs in Khartoum is that, let them wait and see what will happen in 2011.the followers of mamer cier who called himself bashir hassen mohammed we be very far away listening to their lessons not rigging of the election.south will proced 90% in 2011 willmamer will be in assembly with the displinary committee to explain the blood sheet of darfourian and to also speak small English to the world not arabic language. shame on him to be called president without even spoken English.

let them fuck thier anus to the maximum and the will come back to the meaning of the word [rig]

may the idiot mamer face justics as soon as possible?
