South Sudan President-elect, Salva Kiir, to be sworn-in next week
By James Gatdet Dak
May 11, 2010 (JUBA) — The Government of Southern Sudan has tentatively announced that the incumbent President-elect, Salva Kiir Mayardit, will be sworn in next week on Friday, 21st May, 2010.
The caretaker minister for Cabinet Affairs, Dr. Luka Tombekana Monoja said the ceremony will be held at the Mausoleum of late Dr. John Garang de Mabior before the elected members of the Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly (SSLA).
His running mate, Vice President designate Dr. Riek Machar Teny, is also expected to be sworn in shortly after Kiir’s swearing in. The two are expected to form the next government for the region in the weeks to follow after the aothtaking exercise.
Kiir was declared winner in a landslide victory against his only challenger, Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin of the SPLM-DC during the April presidential elections in the South.
The oathtaking ceremony was pushed back because of the delay in the announcement by the National Elections Commission (NEC) of some Juba parliamentary elections results.
Southern Sudan and states assemblies shall first be called to convene and elect their speakers before the President and governors can be sworn-in.
Kiir will also be sworn in as First Vice President of the Republic of Sudan, but this will be after the swearing in of the President-elect, Omer Hassan Al-Bashir.
Bashir’s swearing in ceremony is expected to take place on 27th May. The National Assembly in Khartoum is declared to convene on 24th May 2010.

Our choice, our president. Congratulations to all of us. We are all hopeful Mr. President will fulfill his pre-election pledges and his post-election promises that the next government will be inclusive. This will appease those who are always complaining about being marginalized (Central and Western Equatoria). It is not that they are being marginalized but they actually want everything.
The thieves are now rich and have stolen enough to last them for a while. We hope the president will not bring them back, but pick those who really want to help him do a good job in the next term.
*NO NEGOTIATIONS WITH LT. GEN. GEORGE ATHOR. HE MUST BE CRUSHED*

Dear Freedom fighter,Kiir Mayardit
I am very happy to the extent that I could not express my feeling to the public for you have challenged our barking dog or money minded Lam Akol.
Shame on him and his confused supporters or elements wherever they are in Southern Sudan as well as the World at large.Frankly speaking,Lam Akol is going to rule when I am not going to be among the politicians of Junnup Sudan and I hope my dear friend who is a lawyer in making will do that instead.Let it not surprise you ladies and gentlemen, you have to harvest what you plant.
I cannot waste my time by saying that welcome back to your office since you were playing with a puppy (Lam Akol).
Take care Salva Kiir,we are interesting in separation please.Enough is enough!
Bear in mind that two bulls do not leave in the same cowshed.

Very interesting, how can you sworn in an elected officials when the election results are not officially announced yet. There is no doubt that the incumbent SS president has won the presidency, but I thought in the professionally elections and according to the NEC mandates, the election results need to be officially announced before any sworn in has taken place. Way to go Juba and Khartoum!!

Silly Boy,
Don’t try to confused yourself and be silly at the same time. I am not trying to be rude with you, telling you what is right on the internet. However, how many times do you want us to read your comment? The repetition of your comment does not give us any commonsense to side with you for any given reason you might assert. It seemed to me that you have no limitation of what other people will think of you. Think of yourself on how audience will recieve you out there. Contain yourself mannerly, otherwise people will think less of your personality. You take some steps back from where you are going to and try to be yourself, not the name Silly boy.
Gatwick Tot,
You are from Bor community too because you just think like Mr. Silly boy. But Silly Boy is better than you because he can be accountable for whatever he has done wrong, and that thing causes him to be human. And what about you? You are having no ladder of category. Wrong zone, wrong planet, sorry!
Yes, the Good and the ugly people are all from Bor…and what is wrong with it if you want it to be that way? The combination of those two elements made up Bor to be a wish place, not any other Southern tribe you might think has those things. That is the meaning and uniqueness of Bor, and the very people of that community cannot hide who they are. And to assure you my Gatwick, there is no Good community without mentally challenged people; weaks and strongs, liars and truthtellers, and all type of God’s creations are included. One strong community emerges when wrong versus right are wagged by quality of mind that produces living fruits. That thing gives its best notion to real life and also makes sense to have a good balance Between good and the evil. I will never deny any wick’s right to have refugee in Bor. Mr. Gatwick and the like kind people welcome home, the wish Bor. Mr. Silly Boy, welcome to greater Bor, as Gatwick had thought and suggested earlier in his comment where you belonged to. If not, then sorry for your misplacement.

Good luck with your sworn in Mr. President we hope you will do some changes that is why we elected you to be our umbrella especially in Southern Sudan, no matter what circumstances face you. A president is like a mother who’s raising ten kids without her husband assistance. You’re the only one in that presidency position at this moment. Do your best and let them see how you did it. We all know you will even do much better than how you did during the movement (22 years war). In addition, we appreciated the task SPLA/SPLM members had done from the beginning of war until we reached comprehensive peace agreement in 2005. South Sudan Oyee!!!!! Hurrah!!!!!
Peace is better than war!
