GOSS internal affairs minister returns from security orkshop in Jordan

By John Agou Wuoi

May 19, 2010 (JUBA) — The Minister of Internal Affairs in the Government of Southern Sudan, Maj. Gen. Gier Chuang Aluong has arrived in Juba after attending a security workshop in the Jordanian capital, Arman.

Speaking on his arrival on Wednesday at the Juba International Airport, Maj. Gen. Gier said the participants at the workshop discussed capabilities of how to deal with different security issues in their respective countries. He added that the security is “a complex issue that has little to do with acquiring security equipment” but more to with how to handle security situations as they arise.

Maj. Gen. Gier said he will “hold a series of meetings with senior officials of his ministry to discuss knowledge gained during this workshop” that was attended by over 1000 delegates from different countries. He stressed that the workshop was much relevant to the current security situation in Southern Sudan.

The President-elect of the Government of Southern Sudan, Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit promised to make security a priority during his address at the function to mark the 27th Anniversary of the SPLA Day. He said his new administration yet to be announced will focus more on addressing security concerns ahead of the much-anticipated referendum on self-determination for Southern Sudan.

Maj. Gen. Gier met two weeks ago with the US Special Envoy to Sudan, Scott Gration and other senior US Administration officials to discuss how the US government can help to build the capacity of Southern Sudan Police Service and other organized forces and ensuring successful conduct of the referendum in Southern Sudan.

The Minister was received at the airport by the Inspector General of Southern Sudan Police Service, Lieutenant General Achuil Tito Madut, deputy Inspector General, Gordon Micah Kur, the Director General of Southern Sudan Prisons Service, Lieutenant General Abel Makoi and Security Advisor to the Minister Khamis Abdallatif.

This is a clear marginalization of other ethnic group in southern Sudan. Why are all these idiots from one ehtnic group? All these individuals are Dinkas. Shame on this domination against other ethnic group. This is not a good sign for creating unity.

Gier Chuang there are various approaches to security. It is obviously impossible to secure everything; ultimately when you are a threat to your own people. do you know the problem between Athor and Gov Kuol, you are the causative. Athor will not back down until you disappear with thin air. are you ready to handle Athor’s threat? go for it.

Stupid and an idiot Gier Chuong are causes of Gen. Athor rebellion. Don’t you use those knowledge from the workshop to threaten and intimidate innocent civillians like what you did and used during election otherwise there will be no referendum for the south Sudan. So that security workshop was done for Athor’s problem. Ya going to reap that seed you cultivate.
