Warrap governor warns against covering corrupt officials?

May 29, 2010 (TURALEI) — The first woman elected Governor of the Southern state of Warrap, Nyandeng Malek Deliech, has on Saturday, warned that she will not protect any official engaged in corrupt activities involving the squandering of public funds.

“My administration remains committed to fighting corruption as in our campaign proposals and will not protect any Government official involved in the vice, however small or big the person may be.” said governor Nyandeng.

Addressing intellectuals from Kwajok in the capital of Warrap State, in a consultative meeting on the formation of the new cabinet following a presidential decree releasing state caretaker governors, advisors and ministers, she said that her administration would be inclusive to all segments of the state without any segregation.

“The new cabinet will be inclusive to diligently serve the people of greater Warrap. Your Assembly members are currently working closely on this with executives in consultation with representatives from youth and women leaders,” she said.

Governor Nyandeng also called on intellectuals to encourage partners in development from other regions to come to the state.

“I encourage development agents to come for investment in any field in Warrap without fearing the lack of a system of accountability.” she added

She echoed her commitment to combatting corruption and administrative malpractices by assuring that the esteemed co-operating partners are aware of the government’s fight against corruption in all its form. She assured that corruption will be eradicated so that resources are utilized for their intended purpose.

She added that law enforcement agencies tasked with the responsibility of fighting corruption will continue to be strengthened.

The governor reportedly revealed that all departments under her authority will have to co-operate with law enforcement agencies over queries involving the alleged misapplication of funds to allow the matter to take its course through court action.

In order to make sure that her ministry has adequate administrative skills to combat corruption, she is planning an orientation course on corruption and how to fight it for all the senior management staff.

    That’s good start on you Nyadeng Malek, the governor of Warrap State. If you do keeps those orders I hope you women have low corruption for two reasons: All women who come into power are full of compentent: 2 you women don’t have much things to used other people’s funds however, the man corruptions in Southern Sudan is higher than woman because they are expecting marry multiple wivies to get wealthy “They said”.

    first of all i would like to comments on your statement about Corruption official that shall not be protected by your office,absolutely correct.keep up with that spirit and braves.

    However,form a strong cabinets who can understand you and abide the orders and instructions.
    appointment Dr.Madhel Malek as a deputy Governor so that he can be in your teams that can you give an upper hand in works.
    He will not let you down during delivering services to your dearest people of warrap State.
