In an official meeting on June 7 attended by the mediation, delegations of the government and rebel LJM endorsed the formation of six committees, The six panels include power sharing and administrative status of Darfur; wealth sharing, including land rights; compensation and the return of refugees and displaced persons; security arrangements; justice and reconciliations; conflicts resolution and the peace agreement.

“We have agreed to begin with the wealth sharing after the return of the chief mediator from New York where he has to brief the Security Council on the peace process,” said Tadjadine Bechir Niam LJM secretary for negotiations affairs.

The rebel official further said that talks on security arrangements and IDPs and compensations will start after the arrival of military commanders and IDPs and refugees representatives from Darfur.

“In both cases, we believe no talks can take place if the concerned parties are not present in Doha,” Niam commented adding the rebel commanders have to be associated to the direct talks on the security arrangements and the IDPs will participate as observers.

The Joint Chief Mediator told the Security Council today that the discussions on the issue of the compensation and return of IDPs and refugees will commence on June 24.

Niam also dismissed rumors about disputes and rivalries among the different factions of the LJM stressing all the members of the group are keen to develop trust and cooperation spirit among them.

The LJM was established on February 23 in the Qatari capital from some 18 rebel factions gathered by the Libyan government and the US President Envoy to Sudan, Scott Gration.

The rebel Justice and Equality Movement has suspended its participation in the Doha peace talks after intense fighting with the government army in Darfur. The rebels accused Khartoum of breaching the truce they had signed in Doha last February.

I believe the agreement that will come out of Doha will be worse than Abuja. These guys are going to be cheated again. They look so naive that they do not even know the tactics of Khartoum in negotiating with hidden agenda. Poor LJM, who are theses guys by the way? They are just a bunch of disperate politicians paid off by Khartoum to lure Darfur into slavery again.

I quite agree with Kur that, the hurried marriage of Doha that was parented by Gration and Gaddafi in the labor room of Qataris not only will be worse than Abuja but absolutely nonsense .Abuja agreement failed for many reasons such as:-
Firstly; signed between two criminals Minni Arcua Minnawi and the Government to salvage themselves from the ICC.
Secondly; the agreement is rubbish failed to a address the actual desires of the victims, but rather imposed a frail a agreement on them.
Thirdly; no credible guarantees or guarantors.
Fourthly; the agreement signed under pressure from US government (U.S agenda toped the demands of Darfur people).
Fifthly; the agreement was left excessively on the cooperation of the government to implement it that does not honor any single agreement.
Sixthly; the founder and the sample of the revolution was looks out, because of his legitimate demands. By contrast, Doha is merely the NCP giving birth to a tepid deal thinking that they will out smart the people of Darfur, in my personal opinion Doha is naked deal that will not even make a mosquito buzz on the ears of the people of Darfur. It also necessary to tell that, the cause of Darfur became source of means and survival to unscrupulous individuals, especially from Zaghawa tribe; today Taj eldin Naiyam is speaking about the rights of the IDPs, while before yesterday the IDPs washed their hands from Doha talks, what a shame and stealing to the voices of the victims!!!!!!!!.
