WULU COUNTY COMPLAINS OF LACK OF REPRESENTATION

Lakes state has eight (8) counties which are being represented both in the executive cabinet comprised of 14 ministers. However, Wulu County got only an advisory seat to represent the county with no position in the State Assembly’s specialized committees.

An official from Wulu County who preferred to stay anonymous told Sudan Tribune that “Out of the 14 ministries plus 15 specialized committees in Lakes state Assembly, we are not given any position and we feel neglected and marginalized by the present system of Lakes state government.”

Wulu was given advisory of Peace and Reconciliation in Lakes state executive. He also said that “the advisory position given to us is just an accommodation seat because most of the decisions are made by the Council of Ministers of which advisor is not party to decision making”.

Wulu County, inhabited mostly by non-Dinka tribe known as Beli ethnic group, is located Southwest of Rumbek town, the state capital, and it’s the only state county in which two (2) independent candidates were elected during April elections.

“[In the] aftermath of formation of [the] state government, we as Beli Community will have a committee to visit President Kiir Mayardit office in Juba to ask him whether he will be in position to allow us be annexed to another state rather than Lakes State,” the official said.

Lakes state governor Chol Tong Mayay during his election campaign promised the people of Wulu that his government would be represented by all eight counties of Lakes state.

This committees seems to be good but not good in other ways . It could be edulcorate to those who love leadership and love money transfer to their accounts . Therefore to you guys if you announce that Isaiah Alier Mashinkok was appointed as chairperson you better to listen what he say then not be pertinacious to him like before . And put in mind that we’re watchdog of your development you brought to the state , What we need now from you guys is to come up with sheep’s eyes ( look of love in the state no more insecurity .
    Cheers God blessing you all

Sudan’s Lakes State Assembly announces specialized committees, Wulu County complains
Good start lakes State Assembly to created the beautiful job after been shown by State governor Enginner Chol Tong Mayay, well done but Wulu county have a right complain at the right time in the right place as isolated themselves (JUR-BEL)about the negative promised. I means, the new governor elected Mr. Chol Tong, has mentioned during his campaign last April elections and after took over the office or swornin he repea repeat the same story seral times that his government’s representation would be base on eight counties of the Lakes State.

My voluntary advise to Lakes State authorities is to look into Wulu complain carefully before they going further to see H.E.Salva Kiir, president of the government of South Sudan. however, the president of Goss has no much rights on the state affairs than governor whom you elected by your own votes. On other hand if I were the governor, I will see again the list of the ministers recently appointed, which county in the state have more than two ministers then take one minister away instead of Wulu county to have non-minister. I think this the only best way to avoid any kinds of problem now and later near future.
