Sudan notifies Chad on its stance on African Union proposal

KHARTOUM, May 5, 2004 (SUNA) — Sudan has notified the Chadian mediator on its stance on the African Union’s (AU) proposal pertinent to the monitoring of the ceasefire in Darfur.

Foreign Minister Dr. Musatafa Osman Ismail said that the government, after notifying the Chadian mediator, is waiting for the next step, pointing out that the AU ‘s proposal comes in accordance with the agreement which was signed in N’djamena concerning the ceasefire monitoring.
