Sudan’s Bashir adds advisers from ex-Southern rebel group

August 2, 2010 (KHARTOUM) — The Sudanese President Omer Hassan Al-Bashir today issued a decree adding three advisers to his circle, all of who are members of Sudan people Liberation Movement (SPLM) which is ruling the South.

Sudan official news agency (SUNA) said that the three advisers appointed include Mansour Khalid, Haroun Lual Ruun and Andrew Makor.

Last month, Bashir who won re-election in April, shuffled his circle of close advisors but excluded the SPLM figures previously on his team.

It is not clear what caused the delay in naming the SPLM advisers, five months ahead of a referendum that could lead to south Sudanese independence.

The shuffle puts the number of Bashir’s team of advisors at 17 compared to 18 at the previous cabinet.

Instead of recruitment, the President on his a quarterly period of a year to referendum could only prepare the processes and the procedures for the referendum.

I won’t accept to be a presidential adviser in such timelines limit! I wished I was one among those appointed advisers to question the president of how long to be in such position and what advices shall I give to the president while the country is nearly to get divided into 2-countries.

This shall be associated with Mr Mudafidi Vice President of Kenya who had served for only three months as a vice president to Mr Daniel Arap Moi in the two previous elections in Kenya in which KANU lost the election.

He lost his party for three months vice president position.Likewise, these three advisers would have kept hold of the positions they had in the SPLM instead of follow the ICC accused president on war crimes.

    Thank all

Just to remind the two wise leaders of South Mansour Khalid and Andrew Makur Thou just keep awake guys not to be a lure by this opportunity of being advisers of Bashir in concealment means to campaign for unity I know Andrew is veteran of Anya_Anya one nevertheless of living in khartoum he is still doing favour to his brothers and sisters in South to vote for freedom of seperation.

Dear mr. haroun lual and andrew makor,
do not lay low given the fact that you are nominated by this murderer as advisors, dont expose your secrets and dont allow to be used against your people. what he has done is a string attached policy to woo your people to vote for unity, come home and tell your people about the job and why you took it and let them know it has nothing to do with our independence come 2011 referandum.and to all my comrades in south sudan lets stand together and say what we want………

Frustration Advisors!! after they failed to convince the people of South Sudan to condone the un-attarctive unity now they are trying their last trial to fool the people of South Sudan. Its not logic to have the breat of my milking cow, and when I approach to have a sip then you poke me with your elbo. If I found chance to wow my cows away from you;do you expect me to trust you again to let you come close to my cows again?????????

it is not right time for Bashir to appoint advisors from SPLM on his own powers without consultation, otherwise we have strong people than those he appionted.
