Sudan sells September Dar crude slightly higher

August 3, 2010 (KHARTOUM) — Sudanese oil company, Sudapet today sold two cargoes of September-loading Dar Blend crude via tender at around $9 a barrel below dated Brent.

The government owned firm sold two August-loading cargoes to Chinaoil and FAL at discounts of about $9.30 a barrel to dated Brent.

Oil traders said the Sudanese company on Tuesday sold the two 600,000-barrels lots to FAL Oil Co Ltd for Sept. 19-21 and Sept. 22-24 loading.

The Sharjah based FAL is a major supplier of oil to the Red Sea, the Mediterranean, the Indian Subcontinent, East Africa and occasionally to some regions in the Far East.

Dar Blend crude is heavily discounted because of its high acid content, making it unattractive to most Asian refiners.

Also, U.S. economic sanctions imposed in 1997 against the purchase of Sudanese goods keep many companies away.

PetroChina said today preparing to upgrade, a new refinery in southern Guangxi region to avoid processing Sudanese oil. The move comes after pressures from Washington to clear the New York listed refinery of Sudan’s crude.

Sudan regime is playing but it is too late and too little.

They thinks that, Southern Sudan are going a way or they are likely to vote for separation and so this is why they are trying to sellout cheapest, but the oil in Southern Sudan will take hundred of years to be sold out to others nations and I am positive on that. I can not imagine that, Sudan nation is the third rich Country in Africa world in term of resources particular in Southern Sudan, but these so call Arab of Northern Sudanese have been misusing what was supposed to benefit the whole Sudan nation basically, I will be happy if our Southern Sudanese people apparently vote for separation so that, we can misused our own resources rather than Northern Sudanese sold oil out for weapons war to kills the citizens in the Sudan.

I don’t get it why Northern Sudanese worry about the separation of Southern Sudan while they are they one who have misleading us for many years in the Sudan. Northern Sudan of Omar al Bashir will not attract others regions in Sudan leave a part the Southern Sudan’s problem which is well known in the worldwide.
