Cabinet scrutinizes projects for funding by Islamic Bank
By James Gatdet Dak
August 4, 2010 (JUBA) – The cabinet of the semi-autonomous government in
Southern Sudan has resolved to review and prioritize projects earmarked for
funding by the Islamic Development Bank.
A delegation of the Islamic financial institution visited Juba last week on the
invitation of the President, General Salva Kiir Mayardit, following their
request during a meeting in Khartoum to meet with government officials and
identify projects to support.
In the Council of Ministers extraordinary meeting on Wednesday chaired by Gen.
Kiir, during which the document was presented by the Vice President, Dr. Riek
Machar, the cabinet resolved to form a ministerial committee to scrutinize the
project proposals with the aim to identify the current those projects that have
not yet been funded in the region.
In a press statement after the meeting, the acting minister of Information and
minister of Telecommunication and Postal Services, Madut Biar Yel, said the
initiative by the Islamic Bank is in the context of making unity attractive in
the South.
The Bank is expected to avail funds through the national Ministry of Finance for
financing some of the projects in the South. About ten secondary schools in the
region are being supported by the Bank.
The international Islamic Development Bank through its Joint Mission of the
Islamic Conference Organization (IOC), which has membership of 56 countries
around the world, is planning to conduct a donors conference in the South.

You have to be careful with those types of political baits. You must know that any politicat mistake you make will cost the public dearly. Our people have died in millions because our great, great grandfathers were deceived by imperialists to agree to live with Jallaba. I can not blame them because they were semi-illiterates and did not know the impact of what they were doing then. Now is the time for truth to come out clean in the year 2011.

I am so happy with all these comments and patriotic concern I am seeing in Southern sudanese. In fact some of these funding from Isalmic Bank people are talking about to fund projects in the South are initially our funds. It is another way of telling that they are returning small part of what they have stolen from us.
My reservation on these kind of funding is “what is behinde Islamic Bank fund? And what is a plan of muslim community toward Southern sudanese decision?” I am sure making unity attractive is part of it, Southern Sudan feel being love by muslim, Southern Sudan be count as Islamic state and many more.
My advice to the leaders in such funding is only to get money out in their hands and not materials. Not to allow their people involved in any implementation, because they want to use it as a way of Islamization. Another secret is that if Southern sudanese vote for separation as I know with confident that they are going to vote for separation, the NCP will said they have funded projects in southern Sudan through loan so Southern Sudan must have to pay first.
there are many tricts and let us be watchful when dealing with Arabs and muslims.
