Three people killed on Bor–Juba road
August 15, 2010 (BOR) – Three people were killed and two others wounded following Saturday in ambush on a car just north of Gemeza heading from Bor to Juba, a survivor has told Sudan Tribune.
The victims were all citizens from Jonglei state.
“[The gunmen] shot [the] driver in the chest and the car lost control heading to bushes. When [the car] was stopped by a tree, [the gunmen] reach within minutes and began killing people from close range,” the survivor said.
The witness who was recovering in Bor civil hospital when Sudan Tribune spoke to him on Sunday said that we wished to remain anonymous because relatives of the deceased are not aware of their deaths.
It is customary in south Sudan for such announcement not to be made in the press.
The gunmen spoke a “strange language”, according to the witness who remained trapped in the vehicle during the attack.
Bor–Juba road is the scene of frequent ambushes and attacks.
