Egypt to send medical support to south Darfur state
KHARTOUM, May 7, 2004 (SUNA) — Egyptian Faxira Holding Company has agreed to dispatch medical support to South Darfur State to improve health conditions and to deepen health cooperation between Sudan and Egypt, announced South Darfur Health Minister, Dr. Omer Abdel-Jabar.
Representing Federal Health Minister at a conference on Digestive System Tumors organized by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Suez, Egypt, Dr. Abdel-Jabar said the two sides agreed to reactivate joint health protocol concluded between the government of South Darfur state and Egyptian University of Zagazeeq for better medical services and training of doctors at Neyala Hospital.
The minister said the conference has recommended achieving joint cooperation on medication policies and protocol on basic medicine.
Dr. Abdel-Jabar has briefed Egyptian officials on dimensions of Darfur problem as well as the government’s efforts to bring about just and comprehensive peace.
