Community tell government to help healthcare in Mapel

September 3, 2010 (RUMBEK) — The community of Mapel in Western Bahr El Ghazal state (Wau) has urged for intervention by health authority and international organizations to help community in outbreak pandemic epidemics diseases.

Mapel Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC) Medical Assistances, Joseph Ongom called upon Western Bahr el Ghazal state’s Ministry of Health to give ultimately necessary intervention either by sending an emergency medical mobile team of doctors equipped with medical facilities to curb the outbreak of the diseases.

“Mapel PHCC has been this week receiving more than fifteen reported daily cases of the outbreak disease which is affecting population partisans through neck pain, back pain and epigastria pain “said Ongom.

James Deng Dimo, SPLM official reporter affirmed that “Mapel, the highest populated area in Western Bahr el Ghazal state, has been receiving many returnees from Northern Sudan capital Khartoum, and it neighboring countries.

Mapel PHCC was founded by MSF Belgium in 1994 during the war time before it was peacefully handed over to the Heath Net earlier in 2008 under the state GoSS ministry.

For the last two months, community leaders of Mapel decided to dismiss first administrator of Health Net organization, with allegation of having not provided adequate facilities to the admitted patients. Mapel PHCC is containing only 25 beds for patient’s admittance.

Governor Razik Hassan Zachariah reaffirmed that his government is dedicated to improving health department in Western Bahr El Ghazal state by all main.

    I believe that one land cruiser’s price of one of the ministers could buy many beds for the hospital!
