September 9, 2010 (BENTIU) – SPLM youths in the Unity state’s capital, Bentiu, on Thursday marked the 9th of September to remind the people about the 9th of every month that there shall be demonstrations for referendum on independence of Southern Sudan due on January 9, 2011. Over three thousand SPLM Youths gathered at Naivasha Freedom Square in the oil richest state of Sudan.
The occasion was addressed by the Acting governor, Samuel Lony Geng, who is also state Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries, and a number of state ministers, advisors, Commisioners, and members of parliament. Geng urged the youth to work harder in order to achieve the success of Southern Sudan referendum on time.
John Matip, the deputy chairperson of SPLM Youth League told Sudan Tribune that the SPLM Youths are to remind civilians across the ten states in Southern Sudan that the coming referendum should be scheduled on time.
As the SPLM Youths were demonstrating, 143 youths from different parties mostly the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) declared their defection to the SPLM.

i am very happy that all southern Sudanese have now know the meaning of struggle in the past.i have now relief and trust that southern Sudanese know their destiny .Although Sudan has stronger army then SPLA, human resources is stronger then MIC 29 Fulcrum
