Sudan says killers of USAID employee hiding in Darfur

September 13, 2010 (KHARTOUM) – The three men who were convicted of assassinating an employee of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and his driver in the first day of 2008 are hiding in Sudan’s western region of Darfur, a senior police official said.

The four men escaped from Kober prison, a maximum security facility in the capital, last June through sewer which leads from the prison to a main street, according to Sudanese police. One of the men was reportedly re-arrested along with other men who facilitated the breakout.

Khartoum fired the director of Kober prison General Muhammad Ibrahim and 11 other officers this month over negligence following their escape.

The official spokesman of the Sudanese police, General Ahmad Imam Al-Tuhami, to the Sudanese Media Centre (SMC) which has close links to Sudan’s spy agency, said that they are tracking the convicts inside Darfur.

Al-Tuhami’s statements confirm press reports from last month that the police arrested a number of people in West Darfur who confessed to having harboured the assassins.

John Granville and his Sudanese driver Abdel-Rahman Abbas Rahma were shot dead on 2008 New Years Eve by men believed to be belonging to an Islamic militant group Ansar al-Tawhid which claimed responsibility for the killing.

The genocide regime of Khartoum is making this baseless and unfounded propaganda to find excuses to continue committing the genocide and its crimes in Darfur; and specifically arresting innocent civilians and rebel suspects under false cover of searching for these killers. Furthermore, the regime also by making these white lies wants to scare the aid workers in the region that its radical Jihadist killers are in Darfur. Khartoum rewarded its cold blooded killers by releasing them and most likely they are now enjoying luxurious life in Iran or in Sudan’s National Security hide-outs and shamelessly making bull shit to fool the International public opinion. Al-Tuhami should know that in this global village of ours he is making fool of himself.

Very stupid tactics! Whenever; there seem to be tension between the Islamist in Khartoum and Washington they immediatelt stir up the case of poor family of American diplomat Grandville who was killed in a cold blood inside of Khartoum, the day Sudanese people were celeberating the new year where Sudan security was widely spread on every corner of the capital city Khartoum.

What is the relation between the kiler and their being in Darfur? This is a clear indication that Darfur problem is moved by global Islamists led by Ben Ladin who visted Darfur five times when he was staying in Khartoum. The sad thing is that the global diplamts who are expressig the danger of Al-Qaida knew very well where Ben Laden was staying in Khartoum, but they did nothing to stop him.
