Unity state authority denied any mobile phone threat in the state

September 24, 2010 (BENTIU) — The minister of Information and Communication has denied any occurence of phone explosives, following reports about some explosions. .
The rumors of mobile phone explosion started to circulate in the early September 2010. Unity State government has been carrying out investigation to find out where these rumors could come from in a threat to human safety within the state.
The State Minister of Information and Communication, Mr. Gideon Gatpan Thaor, told Sudan Tribune on Thursday, though some simple cases of electrocutions were found and caused by phone mishandling and not associated to any act of crime by any source.
He said the results of the investigation confirmed no threat to the safety of the citizens, it is important to remind the mobile phone users not to encourage negligent or mishandling of mobile phone as mentioned
This included exposed mobiles to any water resources. Close contact of mobile phone with any source of fire Unnecessary dismantling and poor re-assembling of mobile phone which could interfere with its wiring and may result in unnecessary electrocution as being experienced by a few individuals.
Thaor said the government would like to encourage most mobile phones users always to read the writing on the batteries because precautions have been clearly spelled out in most Chinese made phone.
Thaor added that it is obvious that a good number of phones users in the state will not be able to read the instruction s on the batteries but may find it more convenience to use their mobiles without problems, if they could only follow the precautions mentioned above.
Thaor furthermore , said that the state government would like to assure all citizen that there is no threat with use of mobile phone as might be misinterpreted in the past by the wrong group, he said.
