October 01, 2010 (BENTIU) – The branch of Southern Sudan Referendum Commission (SSRC) in the Unity State has formed five sub-committees to prepare south Sudanese citizens for the referendum on the region’s possible full independence from the north.
Mr. Chan Reec Madut, chairperson of the SSRC’s bureau in the Unity State, has announced that the appointment of the sub-committees would take effect as of September 17.
Micheal Mayiel Chol, chairperson of the SSRC’s sub-committees, told Sudan Tribune yesterday that they were working harder with local administrations in the state’s counties to prepare citizens for the referendum.
Chol said that the swearing-in ceremony of the SSRC’s sub-committees would be held in the state next week. Chol further explained that one of the purposes of appointing sub-committees was to facilitate handling of paperwork related to South Sudan referendum.
The semi-autonomous region of South Sudan is due to hold a referendum in January 2011 on whether to remain united with north Sudan to secede to form an independent state.

This is good development but let the so called counties authority be advised not to appoint their illiterate relatives who ”ll messed the work at the end of the day.
It should not be like election where the registration was done by illiterate and cause a lot of mess.
