JEM rebels deny accusations of being supported by South Sudan

November 9, 2010 (KHARTOUM) — The rebel Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) denied accusations directed against the southern Sudan government of harboring Darfur groups who fight against the government since seven years ago.

Mohamed Atta Al-Moula, National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) director demanded Juba government Monday to arrest Darfur rebels present in Southern Sudan. He also pinpointed to GOSS support to JEM rebels saying Ahmed Adam Bakheit, deputy chairman of the rebel group is in Yei, Central Equatoria.

He said that a mobile unit from the group was heading to Northern Bahr el Ghazal state without elaborating but wondered “What do they want to hand over there and receive from there?”

JEM official spokesperson, Ahmed Hussein Adam, denied today the accusations saying Ahmed Adam Bakhit has returned to the field in Darfur since three months ago.

He further added that speaking about JEM presence in Northern Bahr el-Ghazal is an attempt to cover up the recent defeats of the Sudanese army in Darfur.

Ahmed said the head of Sudanese intelligence service wants to blackmail the Southern Sudan Government in the negotiations on the referendum, and to mask Khartoum’s support to the Lord Resistance Army.

However a Sudanese presidential adviser, Abdalla Massar renewed accusations to GOSS saying they harbor JEM rebels in the South to use them in a probable conflict against the central government as the referendum would not be run as scheduled next January.

In a separate development; Suleiman Jamous, JEM humanitarian affairs official said government forces today raped three women and arrested seven people in a reprisal visit to Bia Kida near Boba, North Darfur where the rebels clashed with the army last week.

Jamous called on the hybrid peacekeeping mission (UNAMID) to investigate the attack against the civilians and called on aid groups to provide humanitarian assistance to the population of the area.

JEM you truly have the right to fight for your rights and I completely urge you to hit them hard. Khartoum will never respect you if you don’t fight back. Examine the case of south sudan and see for yourself how much we have sacrifice in terms of human and material to liberate the marginalized people.

This people have fooled you alot and have very much used your people fight against the liberators of the marginalized. You did fight for them in the name of muslim brotherhood. Now look what happen to your people; the same people who talk about muslim brotherhood are the same ones you are currently fighting. They will not respect you as an african muslim.

Raping and killing of your people is a deep indication that they don’t consider you true muslim but are just using you for their own interest in the name of Muslim or Islam.

I glad that you have understood the Arabs agenda in the Sudan and encourage all of you to further go deep in history to understands these peoples aims and attitudes towards the people of african descent. Open your eyes wide my brothers and sisters. We are on your back although you have annoyed us in the past but as people of true God, we forgive, we are not like Arabs who don’t forgive.

Blessings to all in the name of our True God.

If this report is indeed true, it’s something that I am very happy for . Darfur And Southern Sudan have one common enemy which is Beshir and his NCP. There is no reason as to why we can’t support the innocent ppl of Darfur against NCP which has this dreadful agenda of ethnic cleansing. Khartoum once harbored the infamous world known terrorist Osama Bin Laden which is no surprise as both have the same devil mentality of terrorizing innocent civilians. Darfur fighters are fighting for good cause just like we did and they deserve to be supported. The NCP(National Criminal Party) should just stop whingeing and hand themselves in to the ICC.
