Presidential adviser criticizes South Sudan role in Darfur conflict

November 25, 2010 (KHARTOUM) — Presidential adviser in charge of Darfur file slammed the role of the Sudan people’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in Darfur conflict and asked Juba to stop its support to the rebel groups in western Sudan.

Ghazi Salah Eddin

Gahzi Salah Eddin urged the southern Sudan ruling party “to left her hand from Darfur conflict” saying that the role of the SPLM in Darfur was always negative since the start of the conflict.

“What is surprising that the SPLM wants to return this negative role again through the hosting of the Darfur movements,” he said.

Ghazi Salah Eddin, made his remakes from Nyala capital of South Darfur state where he attended a reconciliation meeting between Misseirya and Rizzagat tribes in Kass. He also met with the representatives of political parties to brief them on the peace process.

In the past Khartoum accused the SPLM of supporting the SLM chairman Abdel Wahid Al-Nur who had been very close to the late rebel leader John Garang and shared with him the vision of a secular and a democratic Sudan.

However, the growing tension over Darfur between the two signatories of 2005 peace deal is caused by the alleged SPLM support to the rebel Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) which fought recently against the Sudanese army in Darfur and Kordofan.

The Sudan Armed Forces struck some locations in Northern Bhar el-Ghazal state, southern Sudan, twice during the last ten days. Officials from the ruling NCP and the Sudanese army were the sole to issue statements on this respect during the past days.

Today, the ministry of information released a statement condemning the semi-autonomous government in Southern Sudan for backing Darfur rebel groups stressing that this support clearly violates the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).

“Explanations given to justify this (support) are without value and are regarded as beyond the red lines and playing with fire,” further added the statement.

The federal ministry said that Southern Sudan authorities have to apologize and correct their behavior in order to avoid that the consequences of this “violation” affect the signed peace agreement and to create the suitable atmosphere for the completion of the remaining benefits of the peace process.

Southern Sudan army dismissed the accusations and said Khartoum seeks to topple the implementation of the referendum process.

Stop waging the war again? the coming war will be different war with the past. If we resume war, put in your mind, NCP officials will meet Saddam soon! stop digging your own grave. saddam had said millions of words when he was in power, but none of these words didnt help him and his officials. it is a time for NCP to start nurturing the relationship between north and the south because, there is nothing will prevent south from gaining their own state. your prophet will not even make the unity of sudan anymore!

South Darfur must not listen to this man Ghazi Salah Eddin.

South Darfurian people must understand that, these are the people who arms Janjaweed Militia against you guys and don’t even bothering yourself to listen to the Khartoum government who want to fool you about the peace agreement which they are talking about. Those who want to signs peace agreement with Khartoum must take good example of how harder the Southern Sudanese people have been struggle since the peace agreement was signed in Kenya if they were not stronger people then, the peace agreement would have already collapse.

Never worry South Darfurian people, you can join Southern Sudan and create New Sudan nation unless you guys need that mistreatment to continues otherwise, you guys must be strong and smarter and thinks big, the Northern Sudan we all known have turns against none Arab in Sudan even if you belief same religion it doesn’t make any different to follow them. The bottom line is that, we Black people in Sudan must isolating these Arab to rule themselves and we as A Black societies who can site and talk peaceful there is something wrong but Northern Sudan only to kills innocent civilians people. You can see how stupid they are messing up the CPA Regulation and now they are saying Southern Sudan should apologize for what while they are one who bombing Northern Bahr El Ghazal State twices.

The relationship of Darfurain and south Sudanese is historical relation no one can prevent them that is why the rebel groups are looking SPLM as strategic alliance. And as result of that most of rebel leaders are currently resident in south sudan. There are many bad experience people of Darfur faced for instance killing, rap, looting, intimidation, and massive violation of human right same crimes have faced to south sudanese. A part from that the group whom signed peace agreement with government of sudan have been treated the same treatment of group of south sudan who signed several peace agreement with government before CPA. We have learned various thinks from our colleague in south sudan. Firstly they have marginalized politically, socially and economically for more the 54 years, no infrastructure, good education facilities, base means on life in general. These problems are occurred in Darfur also.
