Guard against saboteurs as time draws near for a vote for separation

By Eng. Charles Kisanga,

December 14, 2010 – In July 2010, I led a big defection from the party of Lam Akol or the so called SPLM-DC which I joined in the previous with the hope that it was going to work for overcoming the shortcomings of the SPLM which happened in the last 4 years since achieving the CPA. But to my dismay I soon discovered it was meant as tool of Dr. Lam Akol to be used to achieve his personal interests and playing into the hands of the NCP and the Northern Arabs. I also discovered Dr, Lam was a darling of the NCP and Northern Arab elements and hence I had to lead the majority of those who followed me back into SPLM, the mother party which never plays with our destiny when it comes to facing the Northern Arab enemy.

When I rejoined SPLM some in Dr. Lam Akol circle were quick to tell people that I was a separatist and I will serve no good to the SPLM party since the party was for unity of the Sudan. I indeed laughed at this assertion because I knew then those of Lam Akol had no clue of the SPLM party nor had they an idea of the desire of the people of the Southern Sudan for an independent homeland. The news of the big group rejoining SPLM was lightening and more than 40,000 members including their grassroots supporters returned back to the SPLM and wiping out DC in most states in Southern Sudan.

Dr. Lam was left only with a handful of people whose interest was purely the NCP money which Dr. Lam gets every month via office manager of the NCP chairman – 150,000 SDG every month to be precise, drawn from Beshir military bank in Omdurman. Let the so called DC openly talk of separation if this is not the source of their income – I was the SG and I know precisely where all the money came from. Just read the Juba Post 6th Dec to 9th December 2010 (SPLM-DC in Trouble, members doubt stance on Referendum) to see how DC is cornered by the few supporters who are still misled.

Of course Dr Lam’s party cannot talk of separation and their idea to encourage Southerners in the Northern Sudan to register to vote in the Referendum was a ploy to influence the vote for independent and undermine the referendum so that if fails to get our freedom. SPLM-Dc will never be a party for the interest of the southern Sudan as it gets its funding from the NCP and Arab parties and Dr. Lam is its leader, who is the darling of the NCP.

But the days of the SPLM-DC are numbered because with our independent there will be no need for the NCP chairman to give more money to DC although the North may have still come with sabotage work for DC to carry out like destabilising the new nation and DC leaders like Lam will be accommodated as opposition groups bent in changing any new regime in Southern Sudan led by the SPLM or even forming a rebel group of pro-unity who may want to fight for reuniting with the North. Southern Sudanese should be vigilant, because we know how Arabs can change colour like the chameleon. Achieving our freedom via the ballot box may not be the end of the game with them as we have a common boarder and they can smuggle things for wrong groups like DC.

Hence our move to rejoin SPM and campaign for independent Southern Sudan galvanised the separation euphoria in Souderton Sudan and raised the morals of all so that we can beat actions by groups like SPLM-DC which is being sponsored by the NCP and the Arab enemy. Our move in July also marked the beginning of the unity of all the Southern Sudanese so that we could gain our homeland and then the party politics may come after that if others think they can make better parties in the new nation – South Sudan/.

Recently in the registration process I helped the SPLM with members who rejoined so that they could be deployed all over the South to sensitise the population about the need to register and the need to vote once registered. Rejoining comrades joined others in all the states such as Central Equatoria, western Equatoria, Western Bahr El Ghazal Ghalzal and Unity and were very instrumental in propagating the message of registration to vote as a means of achieving of our dream of independent Southern Sudan.

In Western Equatoria however there has been a bit of confusion when some political figures mixed the campaign to encourage people to register to vote for independent Southern Sudan with campaigning for their own positions. As such I was told that some people were asking where was the vocal politician Eng Kisanga when some leaders are now campaigning for positions and not for voting for separation and some assumed I’m quiet because I had taken sides in the power struggle, There was no sides in the imaginary power struggle in WES because the registration to vote for independent is a separate thing from being appointed as minister or winning elections for office. Besides when I rejoined SPLM in July 2010 I launched reconciliation programme so that all political leaders in WES could reconcile and not engaged in personal vendetta but mature politics for the benefit of the community.

It is absurd to talk about coming to power or being made a governor at a time when people are engaged to free their land from the pangs of the enemy. I had been to Yambio and clearly talked to the people and the leaders that this is the time for unity of Southern Sudanese and forgetting all political and personal differences so that we can work to achieve our freedom and then we can later talk about positions and personal differences or even parties. People should not be in a rush to eat the uncooked cake. Wait till it is cooked properly; and I’m sure our leader Gen Salva Kiir Mayardit is just doing that with all his energy as much as our former hero Dr. John Garang brought us the CPA. Gen Salva Kiir Mayardit will also deliver us our homeland and until then there is no need to start squabbling for positions,

Hence my advice is that in the next phase of our campaigning we should go back to encourage everybody who registered to vote for the separation. The stake is now set for good for us to achieve our independent because we can easily make more that 90% turnout and over 90% voting for separation from the over 3 million who registered in the Southern Sudan proper to vote. This will be enough to dilute any figures the NCP or Northern Arabs can play with whether abroad or Northern Sudan. This campaign for voting is going to be harder than even the campaigning for registration because we cannot afford to lose one voter who registered and now is not ready to vote. Hence I urge if we discover even such a person is sick and need to go for treatment then we the campaigners should be in the position to find them the best medical treatment within twenty four hours so that they can be treated and go to vote for separation. We have to talk to the chiefs and local village leaders to find out who has not yet voted and then assist then to go and vote. We need all the manpower and I’m ready to deploy hundreds of the colleagues who rejoined SPLM with me so that the ultimate victory – the independent of the Southern Sudan is achieved.

Long live the just struggle of the people of Southern Sudan.
Long live our leader and SPLM Chairman Salva Kiir Mayardit
SPLM Oyee, Referendum Oyee, a Vote for Separation Oyee…

What ever the disgruntled and depressed Eng. Charles Kisanga has written about Dr Lam Akol and SPLM-DC since his voluntary exit from the party are all crude lies. Just compare what Kisanga used to write when he was still the SG of SPLM-DC and how he was so negative on the SPLM and H.E. Salva Kiir. Did anything change within the SPLM personality cult’s leadership since Kisanga defected to it, and why has he stopped writing about it as usual?

The credibility of Eng. Kisanga’s writing has already been questioned since he proved to be a dead-wood when it comes to administration of diversities of Southern Sudan realities that go beyond the Azande community’s matters. The weakness of this Engineer from WES totally got exposed when he proved himself useless to do any political party work with success, especially when he was goven the last chance to try his luck as the SPLM-DC Secretary-General.

It semms that Mr. Abandoned Kisanga has run out of cash to maintain his bad health in Juba (with beers and Johnnie Walkers these days) that he is going back to the begging attitude in the name of tarnishing Dr Lam Akol political credibility?

Please, Kisanga, if you have realized that the SPLM has abandon you, just come back to the SPLM-DC and apologize for being a dead-wood in its administration. The end of lies is just around the corner.

Truth must be told. Charles Kisanga hasn’t ran out of ideas as you mentioned. His article revealed the truth about Lam, his gangs, their intentions and nature of their politics, that has to be some courage to reavel don’t you think?

As for the so-called Dr. Okuk, what can I say about him. He is a clown simply, working his butt off really hard to end a living by defending anything that mentioned Lam and Bashir in wrong terms.

    Mr. Kissanga,

What is disturbing people, especially educated Southerners, is the fact you were a very loyal member of the SPLM-DC until the Congress of the party decided to remove you from the Secretary General position. The removal was democratic because you were defeated in a broad day light in a free and fair election.

As a result, you were elected as a deputy Chairman of the SPLM-DC but you rejected that position because you didn’t have access to money as usual although you would agree with us that the deputy chairman position was given to you with full benefits. But because the financial benefits of the deputy were less comfortable than the SG position, you decided to leave the SPLM-DC thinking that the SPLM would accommodate you and give you a financially rewarding position. That did not happen and I am sure it will never happen because you will compete with a lot of heavy weights of Western Equatoria who are highly positioned within the SPLM party.

Another problem with your article is that it ignores the significance of South–South dialogue that was concluded by South Sudan parties where all the parties reconciled. President Salva Kiir reconciled with Lam Akol and the bygones were considered bygones. I am curious why you write an article after South-South dialogue was successfully concluded. Your new chairman, Salva Kiir, reconciled with Lam Akol. This means literally that you must follow Salva Kiir in reconciling with Lam Akol for the unity of the people of the South. If today you want to remind the people of the South about the past, my friend, nobody will support your call for disunity again. We the people of South Sudan are tired of fighting for personal interests of people like you who cannot see the future but focus only on their self-interests.

You have two choices; either you reconciled with Lam Akol or you keep your mouth shut from insulting Lam Akol at the expense of South Sudan unity. You will not be appointed a minister because you write accusations against Lam Akol that can return the people of the South back to square one. Please, I am advising you to keep quite and don’t harm South–South dialogue.

Dear Eng. Kisanga and Dr. Okuk,

Both your article and the reaction of Dr. Okuk to it sounds good as far as we can define politics in the context of ” Bread and Meat”. To me, both of you are birds of the same feathers because all that you are revealling, to the so long deprived Southern Sudanese, now is what you have been doing all your political careers. In other words, you are trying to cleansed your evils with counterreaction and counteracussation before the masses to wind their sympathy so as to achieved a new political destiny. A destiny that you have worked against for so long. A destiny that you eagerly and appealingly want to haverst without cultivating it.

As a matter of fact, both of you should have realized that the current breed of Southerners has what it takes to define their destiny without any prophate of doom. What both of you are trying to explain here is what many of us is aware of long before you begin thinking of lecturing us. What you should begin doing now is to cleanst your fist and transform into a visionary politician to rebuilt the emerging Country which Southerners and others alike have shade their blood for many years. We have a lot to do now to ensure that we define our destiny. After that you will wintness the real politics being played within Southern Sudan and by Southern Sudanese themselves in search of a viable, democratic and transparent governemnt. This will be the time you will realized that you will be ask to account or to be accountable for your actions(s).The time to tell the trueth about the past and the present, to account for any wrong doing and to apologize to each other for sins committed.

Marry X- mass and Happy New Year
