Egypt and Libya reaffirm their support to peaceful referendum process in Sudan

December 21, 2010 (KHARTOUM) — Arab leaders from neighboring Egypt and Libya reiterated yesterday their support to a peaceful conduct of independence referendum in Southern Sudan.

The one-day visit marks regional concerns about growing tension between the two partners of 2005 peace deal as the South Sudan referendum is scheduled to take place within two weeks.

The ruling National Congress Party and the South Sudan’s governing Sudan People’s Liberation Movement have failed to agree on a second referendum in the disputed region of Abyei amid reports of troop buildup there. They also disagree on the demarcation of north-south border besides a number of post referendum issues.

The shared revenue of oil is seen by many analysts as crucial factor to prevent an armed conflict between the two sides but the emotional statements by Abyei local actors could easily ignite war between the two parties.

“The summit confirmed the importance of exerting all efforts to enhance mutual trust between the parties to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), to facilitate mutual dialogue between them and enable them to agree on controversial issues, including paving the way for holding the referendum in a healthy atmosphere,” said Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Egyptian foreign minister.

Aboul Gheit further stressed that the meeting discussed regional and international efforts aiming to narrow the gaps between the CPA parties. “It also expressed its full support to these efforts and the importance of its continuity and hoped to reach an agreement on the outstanding issues”.

Ali Karti, Sudan’s foreign minister went to confirm the absence of any new initiative with regard to the peace process. He said that the leaders accept the African Union mediation led by former South African president Thabo Mbeki.

“The summit did not intend to make new proposals at this stage so as not to disperse the ongoing efforts,” Karti further said.

Besides Sudanese president Omer Al-Bashir and his first deputy Salva Kiir Mayadrit the meeting also was attended by the Mauritian president Mohamed Ould Abdel-Aziz who is visiting Sudan nowadays.

Minister Karti was keen to underline that Ghadafi and Mubarak did not raise the message sent by the American president.

The message carried by the two leaders regarding the issue of peace in Sudan is different from those carried by the West because we share the same religion, language and culture, Karti pointed out.

Yes, you share the same culture of terrorism but not the intoxicated Islam you the NCP have in Sudan.
We in the South share our culture with other African Ccountries like Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa etc and the same religion with Israel, U.S.A, Britain, Vatican.
So the differences in culture and religion that you don’t recognize are the ones bringing separation.
Have your Taliban/ Alqaeda North and we have our peaceful and free South. Bye Kirti, bye Nafi, bye Barshir. We shall get visas from your embassy in South when we plan to go and visit our friends in the North. The Yasir Arman and Mubarak Al-Fadil.

Those leaders who said the south Sudan has different cultures with them and they have thesame culture with west are not wrongh, south share the same culture with Africa countries like Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda and etc. Also the share the same culture with chritian nations, USA, UK,and Irael.
that is what bring separation between north and south because, they have different cultures.

Sudan have diversities cultures, some cultures are ignored and abusiced by Islamed culture. the land with diversity culture can not stayed in unity while other are misstreated unless divesties culture are respect if not country must lives in un ended war. Separation is only way to solved ignored cultural way. South will stay independely as coutry with the same, and respect culture.

I am a southerner but I support president Bashir. South sudan need to be rule by sharia law because we are pagans.

we have been fighting arabs for no reason. they were trying to help us but we interpret it negatively. When are we southerners going to start thinking intelligently? We must listen to what arabs are telling us because they have experience in leadership. Arabs are more intelligent than us when we talk in reality.

All our leaders including late John Garang was taught by arabs. we must respect arabs otherwise we will not know how to lead. They are the one who can lead us properly.

this is my advice to you and hope that intellectual people will take it seriousless.

    Thanks

Why pretend to be a Southern Sudanese with a fake name John when you can say all bullshits with your original name of Santanic religion such as Mustafa or Mohamed or Abdalla.

All the bullshits you indicates you are a Talabanic person who is so beaten up by the breaking away of Southern Sudan. Pagans are the once who blow up themselves with innocent people so to please his FATHER DEVIL THE SATAN. By the way Mohammed AKA John, if Southern Sudanese do not know how to rule they would have not given hard times to Jafar Mohamed Nimari, sugar Aldaheb, Sadik Al Mahdi and your ICC wanted criminal uncle HUMAR Hassan Albashir.

Southerners are way smarter than Northern Sudanese and the prove is North had tried all in their books since 2005 to try to come with ways to play with CPA but wise SPLM beat them down badly that they do not know what to do but give up. I guess you heard your uncles Nafie Ali Nafie and Bashir himself. So why don’t you give up like them and shut up.

Who in the South Sudan doesnt nkow that Libya and Egypt are Hippocrates ? An arab will always remain an arab !
With or without the affiramation of these two unfreindly arab oriented countries, we will and i repeat we will conduct peacfully the “By the door referendum” and the whole world will surely dance to the rythems of the musical melody of independence that we are due to sing come 09.01.2011 ! The Arab countries, more especially Gaddaffi’s kingdom (colony) must nkow that we the Southern Sudanese have engaged a foreward gear and so, no more reverse gear to the dirty arabic/islamic world ! Egypt and Libya should leave us alone and instead work out ways of preventing the looming further disintergration of the North !

The Libians and Egypians must understand that the People of Southern Sudan are human beings created by God and carry the same human limitations like any other in the world regardless of colour, religion and race. it defeats my understanding that Gadafi and Mubarak who call themselves leaders are so insensitive to brutality, suffering and genocides commited by Bashir’s regime in both Southern Sudan and Darfur. the two men have never for once condemed Bashir for these atrocities let alone desuading bashir from his selfish national arab identity for the Sudan. Darfurians are Africans who accepted to be islamised and bashir went for their lives after robbing them of their rich Christian Heritage! what did Gadafi and Mubarak have to say about the killings of these fellow muslims by Bashir? Is it not that they are just blacks like us southerners and do not deserve to live which best explains the quietness of the two men?. Did any of these arab leaders ever mind of the killings of those Innocent darfurians? The two leaders to me are as mad on their islamic ideology as bashir himself but only that they are covert on their intend and are afraid of the western nations which expains why they are silent when bashir was conducting his murderous agenda against Sudanese proper(the black african people from whose colour the name Sud-dan originate) Gadafi and Mubarak your agenda through Bashir to arabise Sudan and the rest of the African Continent has utterly failed and your meetings are just as useless. it is humility and respect that made Kiir to Attend, for nothing good will come out of an Arab meeting because after the general meeting, you have your arabic meeting in the mosque to annul what have been agreed upon and aired in both local and international media. I have no trust for any arab solutions and resolutions. Please Mubarak and Gadafi go home and mind your business, the South for your information will not accept to be colonised by any body on the surface of the earth, we are born free and shall live as free people, we are not oppressors and we shall never accept any body to oppress us period!!
