Delivering a New Year message aired by South Sudan Television, Kiir said the citizens of Abyei should not think that they are forgotten because the referendum did not take place as scheduled.

“To the people of Abyei, particularly the Ngok Dinka, I take this opportunity to express my solidarity and to sincerely wish you a happy New Year 2011,” said Kiir,

“The fact that your Referendum has not been scheduled as agreed does not mean that you are already forgotten.” “I would like to convey to you my reassurances that a solution will be found on the problem of Abyei. The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) and the National Congress Party (NCP) must put their minds together to find a final solution. I am optimistic that every hurdle will be overcome and the people of Abyei will be free,” assured SPLM leader.

He called on Sudanese people and leaders to usher into the New Year 2011 with a renewed spirit of life full of hope for the future. “We implore God Almighty to endow each and every one of us with the spirit of forgiveness and tolerance as we enter into a new situation in our country,” he said.

Kiir further announced that president Bashir will visit Juba on 4th January for official celebration of the New Year.

“I therefore urge Southern Sudanese of all walks of life and particularly the citizens of Juba to turn up in big numbers to give him a thunderous welcome when he arrives in the morning of January 4th, 2011,” Kiir said.

Conveying his best wishes for New Year to individual family members, he described year 2011 as a special for the Sudanese people in general and Southern Sudanese in particular because of the upcoming referendum t on January 9th, 2011.

Kiir renewed his call for a peaceful campaigns and mobilization in order to attain a free, fair and transparent atmosphere during the polling, he said.

“It is in the interest of us all as Southern Sudanese to ensure that the outcome of the exercise, determined by the freewill of our people, is wholeheartedly favorably received by our brothers and sisters in Northern Sudan, the region and the international community,” said South Sudan president.

He called on Southerners to join in wishing president Bashir, his family and the federal government of Sudan happy and prosperous New Year.

“Tonight, join me in wishing our President and his family, the government and people of the Republic of the Sudan good health, happy and prosperous New Year 2011.”

“As I said earlier on in my Christmas message, President Bashir and the National Congress Party (NCP) will be forever remembered for having endured the burden of presiding over the affairs of this country during the difficult moments of our history.”

“My brother President, this is indeed a historic credit to both the NCP and the SPLM and I truthfully commend your brave decision to sail the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) through amidst all obstacles,” he said.

Salva Kiir Miyardit and his secetary general who wrote the speech for him are all wrong to assures Abyei Citizens that SPLM commitment is a positive one to finding a solution.

First of all, if you have kids at home and you wanted to give them food to eat, can you give food to an older one first so that he can eat it and then later on you will give the left-over food to the younger one after an older one had finished eating? What if the food is finished by an older one? Where do you think the younger one can survive? This is exactly what Mr Salva Kiir Miyardit is trying to do right now. Why the problem of Abyei is put on hold and is not initiated at the present time? I don’t think that Mr Salva Kiir Miyardit can make that decision if his Dinka Tribe Awan-Chan is on the side of Abyei. I think he can work on it right away.

Second, if Salva Kiir Miyardit like Omar Beshir like he vote for him, then not everybody in the Southern Sudan like Omar Beshir. So, what Salva Kiir Miyardit like is not what everybody like. Salva Kiir need to stop urging the whole Southern Sudanese to welcome Omar Beshir like when he said “I therefore urge Southern Sudanese of all walks of life and particularly the citizens of Juba to turn up in big numbers to give him a thunderous welcome when he arrives in the morning of January 4th, 2011,” Kiir said.

By the way, what does the welcoming of Omar Beshir has to do with the Referendum and to the whole Southern Sudanese in general? Let us not turn a weak decision to overcome or fulfil our brain. If I go to Juba and attend the welcoming of Omar Beshir, I don’t think that Omar Beshir can said right away that Southerners can have their own Government. How many times did Omar Beshir visited Juba? Did something good happen in visiting of Omar Beshir to Juba?

A SPEECH TO THE NATION -SOUTH SUDAN(BY JUR TIER)

South Sudanese, both at home and diaspora, ladies and gentlemen
happy new year 2011 and all the best in this very historic moment in the history of our beloved country – the Sudan at large, and South Sudan in particular. As every second is counting towards what I would rather described as ” a final phase in the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA)” I still believe that it’s up to you as Southerners to decide and define a destination of which each and every individual from the South share the responsibility. A special thanks to God, the Almighty father of heaven and earth for leading us to this very golden time. I would also like to send my condolences to those who lost their love ones to the conflict which raged through millions of lives in the South of the African largest Nation, the Sudan. people of the Southern Sudan, men and women, young and old, the time has come for us to look back to our past of why we took up arms and rebel against the Khartoum government in 1983. January, 9th 2011 will determine that past and the future as a reflection of why we went to war against the north back in the 1980s. Regardless of a number of concerns portrayed by the Khartoum government such as delays in order to detour voting precess from happening as schedule, there is no doubt that a new nation would be borne
on the African continent on that day.Emotions are running high from all the corners of the South fueled by the spirit of secession. From the streets of Malakal to Torit, we will call it a time, from the streets of Wau to Rumbek, Southerners will celebrate. From the streets of Juba, the nation will sing joyfully the anthem as a welcoming to the new nation, new pride of Southerners.

South Sudanese, freedom never comes alone. One have to go for it. It drains the bloods of the love one as a gateway to its path. Those million lives lost in the course of our struggle did not pay that price for nothing. What would it be if we cast those ballots on a unity that, without any doubt, would simply turn out a nearly accomplish peaceful solution like the Addis Ababa Agreement of the 1972. The world is already aware that we had been patience and consistence enough to have Sudan united but the authorities in Khartoum failed to recognized that effort and continued to exercised unfair share of the national power and resources. Today, on this very historic moment we have to make an ultimate and a positive choice that will define our destination to the future. Every struggle has its darkest past but let’s not be caught in the middle of hesitation such that we carry the bad images of our past to decide on your very own future of whether or not you choose being a slave in your own country. All mankind were created equally and to live freely, according to the scripture. It is for this reason that I urge you Southerners not to make a wrongful decision by choosing a unity which is unproductive. A time has come all Southerners decide on their future from the oil rich region of Abiei to Equatoria, from Jonglei to the Lake region, from Blue Nile to the Nuba Mountains. People of the the Southern Sudan, let’s stand by the Movement that led us from those darkest periods in the past to the very present time. If it were not for the Sudan’s people Liberation Movement(SPLM), South wouldn’t reach this future you Southerners are deciding on. If were not for the SPLM, South wouldn’t have a Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) with the North. We therefore, need not to let go that body which leads to this very slightly bright future. And as you are much aware of all the attempts made by the Khartoum government to block this special event, we have to stand more firmer than before in order to withstands any spill made by the North to prevent referendum from taking place.

People of the Southern Sudan, without the past one can’t tell the future. But with one’s understanding of the past, builds a sustainable and a bright future that last for generations. Though the future we have been longing for seems near, we have to bridge our gapes as Southerners. Instead of preaching hatred and tribalism among ourselves, let’s live as citizen of peace and loyalty. Let’s put aside the flows in the current government of the South and show the world that we need to run our own affairs as Southerners by having our own nation and we are capable of running it freely from influences of the North. Of cause the the current Southern government has been making Southerners uncertain of what the future holds for both live and fallen heroes in terms of self-governing, security, economic management, health, education and other major developmental projects necessary as a foundation for the new nationalism.
I believe that these foreseen events appear shocking to many Southerners be from within or abroad. However, the fact that these occurrences should not be taken as of any serious negative in the South should it be an independence nation than it would be united. A true Southerner need to evaluate between the current SPLM governing and the past khartoum treatment of the Southerners.

People of the Southern Sudan, let’s decide on a positive future that would lead to a long term freedom, something
which I believe would define what our future be for the next hundred years. I believe that the birth of the world newest nation has come and we are nearly there. Thank you.God bless you! God bless the new Democratic republic of South Sudan.

Okay keep on kissing the white boy / girl feet. I would rather stick to my original African brothers and sister, because we are smart enough to figure things out freely without whites influence. If it was not for the original African Sudanese who fought against the white man and kicked them out in 1956, the white man will still be in control and no chance for referendum. White man would have taken the whole Sudan. Good Luck! Don’t kiss too hard you may break your tooth because he may kick you one day while you kissing his / her foot.
