President Kiir declares three-day mourning after assassination of minister Milla

February 9, 2011 (JUBA) – South Sudan’s president, Salva Kiir has officially declared a three-day mourning period, following the tragic death of the region’s Minister for Cooperative and Rural Development and his bodyguard on Wednesday.
The late Jimmy Lemi Milla was reportedly shot five times by Emmanuel David Luga, a brother-in-law to the minister, who previously served as his driver. The incident, which occurred at about 10:30am was triggered by “personal grievances” over unpaid salary arrears.
In a condolence message issued later, President Kiir and his government expressed deep sorrow over the event, immediately declaring three-days of mourning, during which flags will fly at half mast on all buildings, starting Thursday.
“The Government of Southern Sudan conveys their heartfelt condolences and sympathy for the bereaved widow and children of the late Milla,” said Kiir in his message of condolence.
Believed to have been in his late 60s, Milla, who hails from Lainya county in Central Equatoria State, previously served its deputy governor. He also served as minister for Parliamentary Affairs in the Government of National Unity (GoNU).
The Minister of Internal Affairs Gier Chuang Aluong stressed that the murder is not politically motivated but an isolated criminal incident.
In a briefing to the media on Wednesday Gier also ordered an immediate investigation in to the death of the late Jimmy Lemmi Milla
The investigation will be headed by Director of Public Prosecution, Filberto Mayuot Mareng and assisted by Director of Criminal Investigation of Southern Sudan Police Service, Maj. Gen. Ajang Reech Gak and three others.
He further said that the Ministry of Internal Affairs with other security organs will immediately beef up security measures to ensure safety of ministers and other VIPs.

Ministers must learn to respect the rights of their servants.
There was no justification why the minister did not pay his driver but resort to sacking him.
That is unhealthy and this is what brought this tragic death.
The culprit must be investigated and executed but not in a severe manner keeping in mind how he warned the minister.

it is true the incident may look as a criminal act. The question is that why only the Pujulus killing their ministers?. Who are those who have tried to kill the late minister Samson before he passed away naturally: he is from Laanya county too.
Please be careful don’t simplfy things, remember the mistake of Omar Basshir Government who was underming the begining of Darfur reviolution. And saying, they are just gangs who rob and kill the panssengers on the way. Later, the facts have appeared and it is actually a ploitical issue.
Please Minister of interior don’t simlify things and say it is just a mere criminal act.Dig deep into issues that may cause politicl unrest at this crucial time for our new born country.

The Nuer man who refused to be target by Ngundeng’s salves pointed out that. Ngundeng had no father or mother but the Devil who came out in the River Nile in a form of fish, when the Nuer boys want for fishing. They fish for so many hours and they caught nothing, when the boys get tied and ready to go back home. One of them told other guys that there was a fish ate his hook lastly, the boy convinced other friends to tried one more time! Shortly after he putted on snail body on the hook, he had thrown it into Nile River. Immediately, Ngundeng was caught. The boy was attempting to pull the Fish Ngundeng out in the river but it was difficult for him to do so, then he called his associates to pull Ngundeng on the shore. They brought it out and they were smile some of them were told to go and collect firewood in order for the young men to roast their fish.
Unfortunately! The Fish Ngundeng changed into big snake! And the boys ran away from it, the boys thought that they were dreaming and they came back for the second times. The Snake Ngundeng light it body and become bright as well as electricity light. They ran home and they spread the news to the community, when the Nuer elders came to the place where Ngundeng was pulled. It was still there as snake with it light. People gather together around it and started asking question how did this happen? The Snake Ngundeng changed into human being and told people not to run away. All of them were shocking and scary to death except Human Ngundeng who perform such witchcraft. things “Come down, come down now!” The Human Ngundeng said. Who are you? The Nuer elders asked him. I am Nyajok_ which mean woman devil! The Human Ngundeng answer! She knew her own physical appearance as she is a hermaphrodite. (A person with both the organs of a man and a woman) Wow! Brothers and sisters of Nuer I am sorry for your Profit. Nyajok Ngundeng was not a Prohet? It was your profit to cheat people for his power but It was not a Prophet? It was a Satan?
