On Saturday, a team led by Clement Philemon Baime a Yambio county community leader visited the Western Equatoria governor, with what they described as a message of hope.

Baime stated that as the host of the capital of the state, the communities appreciated the governor’s able leadership to make the referendum a success in the state despite threats of insecurity from Ugandan rebel movement the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA).

He said: “The community of Yambio County promise to be loyal, support and cooperate and will stand by this current government of the people.”

“As the most populated county (of Western Equatoria), we shall not be left out in the decision making of the state” he added.

A political advisor to the state governor, Robert Bandi, said “Western Equatoria state will fight for the unity of the people of the state.”

Bandi disclosed that “the recent meeting held in Juba with the sons and daughters of the state was commendable and was lauded by every southern Sudanese in Juba. But there are some elements still with[in] the state who are working for the downfall of Western Equatoria”.

In response the governor said, “the success of the referendum in [Western Equatoria] were efforts of every citizen of the state.”

He urged the communities of Yambio County to take the lead in reconciliation and development in the state.

After the referendum, agreed as part of a 2005 peace agreement, the South is due to become an independent nation in July.

“The declaration of the 9th of July 2011 is a long way; therefore we must start planning now to reach the last birth of the new Country”, he added.

Bakosoro said the solidarity shown by the communities of Western Equatoria is a mile stone in the history of the state.

Reconciliation is the way forward to having a peaceful atmosphere and to healing previous wounds. I am happy to hear what you are doing in your respective community. preaching of peace and reconciliation among community members alone has earned you great respect in your communities in the whole nation. This is exactly what true community leaders should be doing. But don’t stop here, you still should pull up your shocks. Julius Nyerere stated that while white people are walking, we should be running because we are far from where we all heading than them.

    thanks

OfCourse, we should be loyal to our State Governor because he is working by the will of the people and committed to eliminate the presence to savage LRA rebels in Western Equatoria State.
During Referendum, no single report of LRA received. Congretulation Bangasi Bakosoro.
