By Julius N. Uma

February 20, 2011 (JUBA) – Two Sudanese youth have been selected to participate in this year’s liberal youth conference to be held from February 21-23 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

South Sudan’s representatives, Peter Kout Ngong and his northern counterpart, Merghanny Abdolahi are part of the 32-member delegation at the three-day symposium, organized by Organization of African Liberal Youth-Liberals Energizing Africa’s Democracy (OALY-LEAD).

The main objective, according to the organizers, is to ensure that, “OALY-LEAD strategy is adopted, and the participants are in a position to contribute to ensure that more young people in Africa are actively engaged in the promotion and sustainability of liberal values.”

As part of the conference, representatives from over 20 liberal youth organizations from all over Africa will take part in a training seminar and the congress to elect a new leadership for Liberal Youth in Africa.

The Democratic Alliance Youth will jointly co-host this event jointly with facilitation from the German organization, Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF).

The liberal youth entity, which formed was in 2006, elected Sidi Toure, a Senegalese national as its first president.

    Dear Peter,
My advice to you is that do not led your counterpart Mr. Merghanny cheat you in a representation that we are still one country. You are a South Sudanese and speak gently on behalf of South Sudan youth.
