Unity state governor: former rebels to be integrated into SPLA

By Bonifacio Taban Kuich

February 28, 2011 (BENTIU) – Unity state governor Taban Deng, addressing journalists in Bentiu on Sunday said the state government’s first priority is to integrate South Sudanese from the northern Sudan Army Forces (SAF) and renegade Gatluak Gai’s forces into the South’s Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) “affairs”.

Deng returned from a two week visit to the South Sudan capital Juba as part of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) Political Bureau which discussed security issues.

”We have discussed security in the South to give the hand of peace to all our people, especially those who were with SAF in Khartoum and the forces of James Gai Yoach, Bapiny Monytuel Wijang and in Unity State Gatluak Gai’s forces, who broke away during the general election declaration result and we have agreed on a peaceful resolution” said Deng. Adding, “They had already allocated areas for the forces to assemble and they will be integrated into SPLA affairs.”

Deng explained that the Yoach and Wijang forces “will be assembling at Riah payam (district) in the south of Mayom county, these forces have already arrived in the area,” and that “those responsible for SPLA integration will be coming in next two days from Juba, for their assignment into SPLA forces, prison services and polices services”.

Traitors who want Riek Machar to be leader of South Sudan after Salva Kiir

Dinka and Nuer have different criteria against which a leader should be selected. These two communities will hardly agree on Riek Machar to lead them. The following are the qualities of a Dinka good leader: God fearing, persuasive, wise, knowledgeable, peace loving, good listener, hardworking, commitment to cause of people’s interests, brave and war strategist but always use violent as a last resort for problem settlement between his people and other communities or nations, and hardly use violent against his people to settle dispute. On the other hand, a Nuer good leader characteristics include: physically strong and violent, his success and respect level is determined by the number of disasters he had created regardless of their outcomes and long term impact on his people and other communities, use violent as an instant respond without first prioritizing dialogue and other methods of problems solving among his subjects and other communities and nations, short sighted, reactive and lack qualities that unite people. Examples of those Nuer leaders that meet Nuer qualities of a good leader include: Paulino Matip Nhial, Gabriel Gatwech Chan (Tanginye), Riek Machar Teny, Peter Gatdet Yaka, Peter Bol Kong, Gatwech Dual, and Gatluak Gai among others.
Dinka will not agree to be ruled by Riek Machar as their president because he does not meet Dinka qualities of a good leader.
First Dr. Riek Machar had not done anything extraordinary during CPA interim period which makes his new leadership style distinguishable from his 1991 – 2002 leadership style which was based on Nuer principles of good leadership mentioned above. If Riek Machar had seen anything bad in this government that he would like to correct as president of South Sudan, he would have resigned and waited for next election to contest and convince South Sudanese to forgive him his liberation period mistakes and accept him to lead them as a redeemed person who had a clear vision to achieve during his presidency. If anything bad is said about Salva Kiir’s government, I don’t think vice president can be exempted from the government mistakes. I believe Dr. Riek Machar had never changed since his 1991 disastrous opportunistic attempt to hijack a successful movement for his selfish glory. He is just waiting for another opportunity to try to hijack South Sudan from true liberators as he attempted in 1991 but he will still fail with his evil and short sighted plans as he had done in the past. Drs. Riek Machar and Lam Akol, and their associates are people who cannot be trusted by any South Sudanese except traitors. If you need non Dinka leaders, you should talk about Pagan Amum, Wani Iga, and Hoth Mai who meet some of the criteria of being trusted and good leaders. For your information, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy – Martin Luther King, Jr.” and “He who has never learned to obey cannot be a good commander – Aristotle.”
Riek Machar joined SPLA/M when it had been established and viable. He came in and destroyed it in 1991 on the advice of a British prostitute he called a wife. Dr. John Garang and his loyal commanders including current president Salva Kiir managed to rebuild SPLA/M to a great strength. Drs Riek Machar and Lam Akol rejoined in 2002 when CPA negotiation contact was established to secure their positions in Southern Leadership after signing of CPA since they were already marginalized in the north by NCP/NIF regime.
Riek Machar failed to control his SPLA/M Nasir faction which led to massacre of Bor civilians and disintegration of his militias into loose smaller rival groups which carried out series of atrocities in Nuer, Bor, and Padang land from 1991 to 2005. Dr. Riek Machar in 1991 killed all Dinka officers and soldiers in his Upper Nile division. What had changed from this tribal maniac from 1991 till now? Nothing! Riek Machar rebelled in August 1991 and surrendered to Khartoum ruthless jihadist regime in December 1991 without staging any resistant, merely four months after establishing his own rebellion and causing havocs in Upper Nile in the name of fighting for democracy within SPLA/M and self determination from the same enemy he had handed his land to. Pathetic! What a great shame indeed? Where are the qualities of leadership in him that will persuade South Sudanese to vote for him? Nothing!
Recently, Dr. Riek Machar allowed his wife to contest as an independent candidate in Unity State which led to a rebellion after she failed elections. If he cannot control his family members from working against the party in which he is a vice chairman and vice president of GOSS formed by SPLM, how can he managed to rule others when he had failed to rule his own house? Impossible! Many positions in Unity State, GONU and GOSS allocated to Nuer community are occupied by his relatives or close friends. What is a definition of corruption if this practice does not qualify to be called corruption?
Quack Dr. Riek Machar had never apologized for the atrocities committed against Bor, Padang and Nuer people during his 1991 fatal split of SPLA/M. People who were affected by his horrendous intended atrocities still hold him as an enemy. Without reconciliation, how will he rule them as their president? Impossible!
Ooh! I am forgetting that he sold South Sudan oil fields with everything in those areas including people to the Arabs’ ruthless jihadist regime to kill, maim and displace people there and extract oil to buy latest fighter jets and helicopters, tanks and other military armored vehicles, tactical surface to surface missiles and all other kinds of sophisticated weapons so that SPLA/M is quickly crashed in order for the aspirations of South Sudanese for justice, equitable development, equal political participation and self determination are dashed, just in exchange for an opportunity to be Al Bashir’s English Interpreter (politely known as ‘Assistant to the President of the Republic in charge of interpreting English communication/speeches’). Of course, God was on South Sudanese side and he failed with his evil plans to destroy people’s aspiration just for an interpreter position.
What a great shame this brainless traitor had brought to the African race in Sudan!
I believe his current position is enough for him to amass wealth as he is currently doing. People are still bitter about his 1991 fatal split of SPLA/M and subsequent betrayal of South Sudan people by selling their land, oil, and children for an interpreter position and creation of numerous dangerous militias that had turned greater Upper Nile into a human slaughtering zone till date.
Nuer should be ashamed of associating with and supporting him and his horrendous deeds and evil intentions.
To remind you, liberators are just watching and failure to drop his power greed and evil plans after July 9 will invite trouble to himself and his supporters.
Watch out not to be caught on the wrong side of history this time around.
Thank you for digesting these facts and stopping your blind support of these brainless and short sighted quack Drs. Riek Machar and Lam Akol which had shamed African race in the Sudan during liberation struggle and continue to do so till date.

That is a smart move Mr. Governor! I have confident in you that you will do everythings due able to give peace a chance in the state

To all brothers with tribal mentalities:
Dear brothers, it is hardly beyond any rational comprehension why highly intellectuals people of your kinds do deliberately engaged in preaching hatred among the Southern Sudanese communities. I am not saying this disrespectfully to you, but truth as to be truth. I doubt in my mind if you people who are holding on to tribal mentalities are still in your rational thinking!

I believe your subconscious thought of thinking have been subjugated by your own egos. Every one of us counts, you people count. You are among the intellectuals who are the hope of tomorrow. By engaging in tribalism, you not only failing yourself, but you are also failing the whole nation.

I am completely infuriated by your feckless comments on this web every day. Who among you can tell me the benefits of preaching hatred among our own communities? Who among you can tell me the benefits of making tribalism his daily slogan?
The conviction to this cultural virus, and I means the tribalism, has caused us more toll in the past and yet it seems as if we haven’t learned anything from it. At this point in time, we can’t afford losing any one of us to insane causes like tribalism.

Please folks, let us all move higher and let all grow. Let us show ourselves to the rest of world that not only we are mature people rationally, but also we are people with outstanding rectitude. And one way we can do that is through the manifestation our positive thoughts on this website.

If we don’t show any sorts tolerant to each other here on the web and in the real live, if we don’t avoid be spiteful and be sentimental to one another here on the web and in real live, and if we don’t show the sense of devotion to our forth coming nation merely because we divided ourselves on tribal line, the rest of world we find it very farcical that we will be capable to govern ourselves.

I whole heartily beg your pardon folks not to let tribalism blurred your vision and to prevent you from seeing how far we have come. All of us who are still here have been spared by God during the struggle and have the chance to see our golden opportunity first hand, so we have so much to be thankful for. Why? Because millions of our brothers and sisters we will never experience this gold-plate, nor will they reap what the sowed because they have sacrificed their lives for the cause our freedom. May God bless their souls.

So please brothers and sisters let all show our due respect to our martyrs by embracing the spirit of love and devotion to our young nation. Let all refrain from provoking thoughts contemplated by tribal mindsets.

Our young nation will soon be emancipated and along with it, will come many opportunities and also many challenges, but if we don’t learn to put our nation interests first before our tribal interests, if we don’t learn to stand together united and speak with one voice, I am afraid the future this of this young nature will be very murky, and the independence we all be longing for may turn out to beginning of very many…..So let all be very vigilance and let all capitalized on unity brothers and sisters and we will all be the winners. May God bless our young nation and bless us all.

    Southern Sudanese United Oyeeeee!
    SPlA Oyeeeee!

what is the role of the SPLA chieft of staff Gen.LT, James Hoth Mai?

Instead of GOv.Deng Gai to integrate Gatluak Gai’s forces into the SPLA mainstream forces, since it isn’t the work of his governorship executive. You see how we really mess up with the assignedd duty of the military services with civic affairs, while blaming those who are not complying with the current policies of the government in powerful. In fact, I have been to the SPLA/M since it emerged after five years I wasn’t recuited into as the Red Army of late heroe Dr.Garang De mabior. It’s better to understand someone’s problem instead of just having a plot to ploy others for a death tricken. We can’t think premature as we just came out of bush from hidings, since by the time we had been into civil war in 1983,till we have put down our armed weaponry when the Naivasha, Kenya of 2005 was stipulated into some certainty agreements compare to many agreements that had been discarded by the Khartoum our senior mother behind the kitchen’s corners.Anyway, we can’t bring the olden tricky on our same people when they say something is wrong with their feelings, because we are going back to different kinds of grudgery amongs ourselves we have welcome the freedom of self expression, equality, justices, and liberty due to the fact that every sons, sisters, mothers, fathers, and all stuffs of human beings’ live had been lost from their souls and body because they were dearly borne by their as an importance to set their loved ones free from the slavery bondage.There4, I’m tired of the system we are fooling ourselves for fair rule, while we think of killing one with out basic clues. Then, what is so good with that by the way? Stop ploying people for really truce instead you are intending to kill anyway that is my message to those we are taking care of people’s services for their opportunities. There would be still a time to judge on those scenarios though they are being acted undercover and hidden from the public outstandings. We need to welcome our New State with a warmest congratultions despite of whatever uncountable grievance among our differences.Let’s our all eyes on the borderline instead of just in Juba captital, which will not go out with no one.If we talk for the late Dr.Garang’s visions positively then we can’t be complaining against so and so.Yet, we have been subjected to an organized child’s abuse when we were in the movement, but we aren’t given a chance to taste what we had been supporting, as most of my colleagues are overlooked when they go home to visit their love families whom they had missed for so long with out in re-union with them for some decades.
