Jaok told Sudan Tribune, yesterday, while visiting the state capital Bentiu, that his county is facing challenges of food security and water services. He added that about 1,318 households (5,613 individuals) have been reoccupied / established in Payinjiar county during and after the south Sudan referendum.

He further said that the situation for returnees has become a big challenge since then some do not have the power to set up the foundations for their new local houses or tukuls.

Jaok underscored that there is a need for assistance for these returnees in terms of food provision, saying that they had already allocated some land to the returnees in Payinjiar but what remains to be the biggest priority is food.

“Payinjiar county is the last county of Unity state in terms of the development of infrastructure, especially road networks and communication facilitation in the whole of state”, he said. Jaok added that due to the poor road system, traders are disinclined to carryout business in the area.

He promised to deal with the conditions that hamper Payinjiar. Joak added that “what remains now in the South Sudan is how to improve security issues and the challenges of a new nation”.

He said that his call to these food agencies is to tackle the situation of returnees before it become worse throughout the county.

What kind of food problem is your county facing? Its very great shame to speak publicly of such a nonsense issue. These are not the thing you should talk about. your county is so isolated. Instead of focusing seriously on food, please talk of road to your county, health facilities and schools that your county lacking since the CPA signing in 2005. Please be focused on tangible public interest like the above mentioned, my friend.
