Ex-adviser for Salva Kiir launches new rebellion in South Sudan

March 23, 2011 (JUBA) – A former adviser for South Sudan president Salva Kiir has declared war against the semi-autonomous government, a spokesman for the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) announced on Tuesday.

Major General Abdel-Bagi Ayii Akol (SMC photo)
Major General Abdel-Bagi Ayii Akol (SMC photo)
The SPLA spokesperson Colonel Philip Aguer said in a televised statement today from Juba that General Abdel-Bagi Ayii, from Northern Bahr el-Ghazal state, had rebelled but did not give a reason for this move.

Major General Ayii was a presidential adviser to Kiir, until the government was reshuffled after the 2010 April elections.

He joins a growing list of disgruntled militia officers in the South who have decided to take up arms, which now includes George Athor and David Yauyau in Jonglei state and Gatluak Gai in Unity state, and Oliny in Upper Nile state.

The Muslim figure was one of the former militias officers who joined the South Sudan army in 2006 and had their forces integrated in the SPLA.

The SPLA official reiterated accusations that the northern government of President Omer Hassan Al-Bashir of fueling these defections by arming militias in almost all the frontier states bordering with the North.

Last week Major General Ayii made an interview to Sudanese Media Center (SMC), a website closely linked to the country’s intelligence circles, in which he accused the SPLM leadership of corruption and giving preferential treatment to some figures.

He also claimed that Muslims in South Sudan suffer discrimination citing examples of properties were taken away from them and given to foreign investors.

The rebelled officer added that some ordinary citizens came up to him saying that they suffer harassment because of their Muslim names and where told that they should change them.

Major General Ayii has demanded disbanding the South Sudan government and forming an interim one where Muslims are represented by 30%.

The rebellions will cast a shadow on the preparations for South Sudan’s official independence next July. The people of the region voted almost unanimously for secession in last January’s referendum.

    Dear Southerners,

This is serious than what you can imagine! This guy motives and claims should not be overlooked. The GoSS must finds the quickest way to resolve this immediately. This one is totally different from Upper Nile rebellions because it has religious implications. GoSS needs to think seriously about this one. It seems to me his claims are debatable and I hope that somebody in Juba have to listen to those claims. GoSS must move quickly to defuse this rebellion peacefully. Thanks

Quick to fight their own brothers in the South and enthusiastically show their dead corpses on as Brig. Gen. Malaak Ayuel did a few weeks ago on SSTV, is a traitor in my opinion.

Why not fight the real enemy “Sudan Armed Force’ when they are constantly bombing South Sudan territory? the world is watching especially the United States, who despised BRUTAL cowards who killed their own people, especially civilians.

Gaddaffi is feeling that brunt of anger from the United States and its allies at the moment.

Fight your real enemy not own brothers!(Cowards bunch with big bellies Generals-you are bringing shame to South Sudan). other countries in the region are watching closely with disgust!!!

    South Sudanese,

Alqaeda and terrorism is more likely to be introduced to South Sudan through these outbreak of islamization in the Dinka community.

Look at what this old militia general plus his young generals in the field are demanding. Taking over of South Sudan by islam.

Wow! What a treacherous demand by food loving thugs!

Again, history is very clear that all islamic institutions in the South are formed by Dinkas.

During the South Sudan Coordination Council, the man who formed the Muslims Council in the South was from Bor Dinka by the name Sheikh Beech, who is currently still in the laps of Bashir in Khartoum.

Now in the new South Sudan state, it is another extremist Muslim from Bor Dinka by the name Sheik Biar who is the head of the new Islamic Council in the South. Now probably Abdel Ayii is fighting for the right of this Islamic Council.

Biar was appointed by his late uncle, John Garang, in new site during the SPLM/A bush time to solicit money from muslims around the world.

You can now see that there are already his “Cyber Jihadists” on the website demanding that Kiir talks to Ayii on the table to listen to his demands of giving more islamic seats in the government.

So, Bor Dinka produce islamic scholars while those of Bahr el Ghazal produce islamic warriors to fight for the right of the islamized Dinka community.

No, no guys, it is better to fight for our good governance and rule of law instead of trying to make South Sudan hijacked by Al-qaeda groups.

Hey guys this blackmuslim so called Abdel-Bagi Ayii is not a genuine Dinkaman. So you guys who are blaming Dinka for being greedy for leadership, You are all mistaken. Please let us work together hand in hand to solve Abdel-Bagi’s second mutiny once and for all and let us not put blame on specific tribe.
The man has just come yesterday from rebellion and he is a life threatening now. Please don’t trust such people like Abdel-Bagi and George Athor they are couple of idiots. SPLA send Abdel-Bagi to another world, because he keens on establishing
Mohammedanism religion in the country, if you taken it lightly it will bring another bifurcation of Southern Sudan some years to come.

    Ya Abdel Bagi Ayii,

The principal enemy of freedom and peace we know is Khartoum given its record of political marginalization since the entry of Arabs into Sudan (The land of the black) in 1820. Another enemy of freedom and peace we southerners are trying to identify is us whether he/she was in the bush or not, a Christian or Muslim who believes mainly in self-interest and free money from Khartoum.

What sense does it make if you were in the bush for over 21 years, rebelled against your own govt. after losing elections to become governor of a state? Was that the main goal of being in the bush that during the interim period one “must” be a governor of a state or a president of the government of Southern Sudan?

For those southerners like Abdel Bagi Ayii and the likes who came from Khartoum and got integrated into the SPLM, why did you waste your time to make such decision to join your brothers in the south if you know that you were really free politically and religiously in the North/Khartoum? Why don’t you remain in the North not only to serve the interest of Khartoum but rebel against NCP for not allowing a Christian rule Sudan according to Islamic law instead of beating around the bush for the sake of attracting media attention.

Even international media is aware that Khartoum (and its allies) is the only one providing ligistical support to these rebel/militia groups formed to destabilize South Sudan. To Khartoum, the imminent independence of Southern Sudan means loss of control of oil revenue which will certainly translate into its economic downturn.

The issue here is, how can Abdel Bagi Ayii convince the world that he rebeled because he was demanding for disolution of the current elected government (GOSS) to include southern muslims or terrorist I may call? If he is a real Muslim, not a converted one for obtaining food and prominent political position, I believe he knows where Osama Bin Laden is hiding. Let me tell you Abdel Bagi, Khartoum’s next plans and their means of implementation against GOSS are already on the radar.

Le me be clear here, with this kind of subversive and disruptive development, where will all these traitors run/go as Khartoum government is nearly exiting from power to pave way for political transformation in the whole north? However, South Sudan will certainly achieve its goal of celebrating its hard-won historic independence under the leadership of Joshua H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit.

Am so tire and stress by hearing and seeing all these misfortunes that are befalling on us one after another.dear our elders and leaders, not all of you can be presidents in the same country and also in the same time,it’s not necessarily for you to be a president, ministers and governors to serve us but you can serve us in many fields.
Mr Abdel-Bagi base on your picture posted in this article, it shows that you are an old man who is suppose to sit-back and try to direct and advice the young generation of how to fashion this great dream that you fought for and many of your age-mates yearn to see it.But am shock to know that, you are waging a rebellion on religious objective.if you want the muslims to be represented by 30% in the government of south sudan, then in this sense are we building a nation base on democracy and meritocracy or theocracy? because in the end of the day all the religions, tribes and section in the south will be using your very argument to attain either their personal or external interest. We don’t want our country to become like Lebanon where government structures are base on religious sects. We fought with the north, because we want secular state with equal citizenship and freedom of religions.
I would like you to redefine your objective, in order for your rebellion not to look like religious rebellion.I personal respect any rebellion base on secular motives or for the corruption that is ragging in the government of south sudan but this does not justify the killing of many innocent citizens who are falling as victims of this power wrangling. We know all what is taking place in SPLM party, there are many thugs within SPLM/A ranks wanted to erect communist state or another Cuba rule under Fidol Castro of southern sudan.Am afrail that all our strugght for the last 50 years will just evapourate from our eyes, because of our greed.Lord show us your mercy and love and clean us from all evil and greed for power.

I understand this is irrelevant to the article presented but i thought it’s relevant topic to some of the issues and struggle we face as Black people, more specifically as Souther Sudanese.

Feel free to express your personal view and elaborate on this thoughts.

    Here it is…..

    By Dee Lee

THEY ARE STILL OUR SLAVES We can continue to reap profits from the Blacks without the effort of physical slavery Look at the current methods of containment that they use on themselves: IGNORANCE, GREED, and SELFISHNESS.

Their IGNORANCE is the primary weapon of containment. A great man once said, “The best way to hide something from Black people is to put it in a book.” We now live in the Information Age.

They have gained the opportunity to read any book on any subject through the efforts of their fight for freedom, yet they refuse to read. There are numerous books readily available at Borders, Barnes & Noble, and not to mention their own Black Bookstores that provide solid blueprints to reach economic equality (which should have been their fight all along),but few read consistently, if at all.

GREED is another powerful weapon of containment. Blacks, since the abolition of slavery, have had large amounts of money at their disposal.Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas, out of their 450 billion dollars in total yearly income (2.22%).

Any of us can use them as our target market, for any business venture we care to dream up, no matter how outlandish, they will buy into it.Being primarily a consumer people, they function totally by greed. They continually want more, with little thought for saving or investing.

They would rather buy some new sneaker than invest in starting a business. Some even neglect their children to have the latest Tommy or FUBU, and they still think that having a Mercedes, and a big house gives them “Status” or that they have achieved their Dream.

They are fools! The vast majority of their people are still in poverty because their greed holds them back from collectively making better communities.

With the help of BET, and the rest of their black media that often broadcasts destructive images into their own homes, we will continue to see huge profits like those of Tommy and Nike. (Tommy Hilfiger has even jeered them, saying he doesn’t want their money, and look at how the fools spend more with him than ever before!). They’ll continue to show off to each other while we build solid communities with the profits from our businesses that we market to them.

SELFISHNESS, ingrained in their minds through slavery, is one of the major ways we can continue to contain them. One of their own, Dubois said that there was an innate division in their culture. A “Talented Tenth” he called it. He was correct in his deduction that there are segments of their culture that has achieved some “form” of success.

However, that segment missed the fullness of his work. They didn’t read that the “Talented Tenth” was then responsible to aid The Non-Talented Ninety Percent in achieving a better life. Instead, that segment has created another class, a Buppie class that looks down on their people or aids them in a condescending manner.

They will never achieve what we have. Their selfishness does not allow them to be able to work together on any project or endeavor of substance. When they do get together, their selfishness lets their egos get in the way of their goal Their so-called help organizations seem to only want to promote their name without making any real change in their community.

They are content to sit in conferences and conventions in our hotels, and talk about what they will do, while they award plaques to the best speakers, not to the best doers. Is there no end to their selfishness? They steadfastly refuse to see that TOGETHER EACH ACHIEVES MORE (TEAM)

They do not understand that they are no better than each other because of what they own, as a matter of fact, most of those Buppies are but one or two pay checks away from poverty. All of which is under the control of our pens in our offices and
    our rooms.

Yes, we will continue to contain them as long as they refuse to read, continue to buy anything they want, and keep thinking they are “helping” their communities by paying dues to organizations which do little other than hold lavish conventions in our hotels. By the way, don’t worry about any of them reading this letter, remember, ‘THEY DON’T READ!!!!

Think about it hard and do something about it…Please sent it to all your black friends.

Hey there. I’m sorry, but you speak the truth that “85% of Equatorians are educated.” You are definitely right on that. When we fought, Equatorians were in the school and they get all the educations they need. But We, the other tribes who write incorrect or sentences were fighting for the freedom and liberty you enjoy today. So, don’t be proud to be educated than other people. They were not sleeping or staying at home when you and other Equatorians people went to school. In fact, I remembered back in 1994 when I was in Juba outposts fighting Arabs. There were older children than myself going to school in Pageri, Keya,Torit, Mageri, Yambio and many other Equatorian counties. These children stayed with their families, but I slept outside guarding them. I didn’t think in term of joining them before liberation. I was thinking in term of freedom fighter and liberator. Now, you twist that chance Equatorians got to avoid fighting because most Equatorians used to think SPLA/SPLM fighters are going to be defeat similar to Anya-Anya I. I was still a boy, but I knew clearly what I was fighting for. I was fighting for the freedoms of all Southerners. So, please don’t be proud for the education you got when we were fighting. You are hurting freedom fighters including myself. I remember I use to played and hanged out with the Equatorian Kids in their school backyard after school. After we played they go home and I go back to my platoon unit. Therefore, stop your nonsense my friend and try to get people united instead of disunited. May I ask you a question, where were you during war? Where did you get your education? I started my school outside and under the tree during civil war and I was tired of getting school outside that’s why i took a gun and went to war. I was not old enough to fight, but I decided to fight. Now, after peace is signed. I’m back to school if you are curious about my education backgrounds. Let me tell something, these called rebel leaders from Dinka tribe or other tribes are not fighting for the freedom, but for greediness, and self-interest. They will get nowhere. They don’t think in term of tomorrow. They want to stir up the SPLA/SPLM government for their greediness and you act like those leaders who rebel against SPLA. May I ask you, what are they fighting for? Position and greediness right. That’s right. Greed and selfishness. They don’t think. Here you have it. Following their leads or follow the lead of all Southerners. Peace out from freedom fighter and Southern Sudan Defender General.

Last year when visiting Juba the capital of New State, I was almost chocking to death! I thought we are already separated with Muslims.
I didn’t expect some ignorant Great Equatoria people who are still kissing their masters asses while the Might SPLA/SPLM brought to them a great news hope of freedom. I walk into the Mosque in Juba to make sure those who are picking their noses on our land with white linens on their foreheads are not Southerners.

They were all Equatorians with mixed colors; seventy five percent of children were belong to Arab militaries that were in Equatoria areas at the times. I was with friend call James Kuku John who was also Juba born, he explained to me that those kids were born randomly due to insecurity during the war.
Before the SPLA all the women and girls including teenagers were forced by Sudan Militaries to have sex with them and forced them to let go to Mosque. And they were forced to worship what so call Allah! Most of the Teenagers were sexual abused and now are paralysis as you see them. They were even forced men to have sex with them mostly they Equatorian and Darfur people were they victim of sexually abused.

Before the war Kuku was in Khartoum and came back later to Juba where he was locking inside the city. Kuku was pretending to be an original Muslim and he was awarded to be clerical, he did this to save his life but he was a Christian. He tried his best now to bright back the lost sheep of the Lord and Almighty Jesus Christ to his hedge. Kuku said there are 257 Mosques in Equatoria Land and 79 of those Mosques were located in Juba alone!
How great shame is this to our Great Equatorian? Sir can you let go the Muslims? Shame on you Equatoria! This land of our great grand fathers smells good since God given it to our mother! You don’t need to bow down to smell it other you will smell the bullet. Please be advice! No more Muslims on this land and those Ayii or whatever you call him will soon be slaughter like a goat. Take care of yourself, no Islamic and Terrorist on our land!_________________________________________________________
For those who are still using Ngundeng ideologies, please be inform! Ngundeng had shameful things to be said about him. First,

He was not a Prophet but a profit to his royalist in Nuer.
He had many names according to his activities in many parts of South Sudan.
He was a Cannibal animal according to Nuer man who doesn’t need to be mentioned
His first name was Ngundeng-meaning that he was send by God.
After he gone wild and ran away.
His name changed to be Gatluakmanguel in Nuer dialect.
He ate many Nuer men and women in Nuer Land
Dinka. His name was Manyang e Juet.
He ate many children, animal claviers and cows’s bulls in Dinka Land.
Equatoria with different languages including English and Arabic
    His name was Tiger

The Nuer man who refused to be target by Ngundeng’s salves pointed out that. Ngundeng had no father or mother but the Devil who came out in the River Nile in a form of fish, when the Nuer boys want for fishing. They fish for so many hours and they caught nothing, when the boys get tied and ready to go back home. One of them told other guys that there was a fish ate his hook lastly, the boy convinced other friends to tried one more time! Shortly after he putted on snail body on the hook, he had thrown it into Nile River. Immediately, Ngundeng was caught. The boy was attempting to pull the Fish Ngundeng out in the river but it was difficult for him to do so, then he called his associates to pull Ngundeng on the shore. They brought it out and they were smile some of them were told to go and collect firewood in order for the young men to roast their fish.
Unfortunately! The Fish Ngundeng changed into big snake! And the boys ran away from it, the boys thought that they were dreaming and they came back for the second times. The Snake Ngundeng light it body and become bright as well as electricity light. They ran home and they spread the news to the community, when the Nuer elders came to the place where Ngundeng was pulled. It was still there as snake with it light. People gather together around it and started asking question how did this happen? The Snake Ngundeng changed into human being and told people not to run away. All of them were shocking and scary to death except Human Ngundeng who perform such witchcraft. things “Come down, come down now!” The Human Ngundeng said. Who are you? The Nuer elders asked him. I am Nyajok_ which mean woman devil! The Human Ngundeng answer! She knew her own physical appearance as she is a hermaphrodite. (A person with both the organs of a man and a woman) Wow! Brothers and sisters of Nuer I am sorry for your Profit. Nyajok Ngundeng was not a Prohet? It was your profit to cheat people for his power but It was not a Prophet? It was a Satan?
