Marr said Jonglei state will have enough rooms and quality services to host South Sudan guests and other African dignitaries who will attend the 28th anniversary of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) – the movement which fought Khartoum from 1983 to 2005 – on May 16.

An army mutiny in Bor was the first act of Sudan’s second civil triggering the establishment of the SPLA. The South took up arms over political and economic grievances as well the implementation of Islamic Shari’a law.

Deputy governor Maar told Ayii Duang, owner of South Sudan Hotel, that money for development is not a waste, asking him to build private schools, technical schools and health centers in Bor.

South Sudan Hotel is a South Sudanese owned hotel chain operating in Central Equatoria State (Juba), Western Bahr El-Ghazal state (Aweil and Nyamlal counties),Northern Bahr El-Ghazal State (Wau), Upper Nile State (Malakal), Western Equatoria state (Yambio), and now Jonglei state (Bor).

Manyang said the first face of the South’s was to achieve independence but now the region must eradicate poverty. South Sudan is one of the worlds least developed regions.

The governor called upon businessmen and external investors to come to Bor saying the Jonglei government and counties authorities are ready to give idle lands to investors to create jobs and develop the state’s economy.

He said the presence of South Sudan Hotel in Bor has promoted Jonglei’s image, adding that foreign and internal dignitaries and presidents of African nations including Sudan’s President Omar Hassan al- Bashir now have a secure and comfortable place to stay in Bor.

Bashir accepted the result of January’s referendum paving the way for secession. Salva Kiir the President of the semi-autonomous region of Sudan will in July, become head of state of the newly-independent Republic of South Sudan.

good work, now i have a place to stay when i go home for independence.

About the laziness of the people and alcohol consumption, i was very dissappointed when i last went home. its always foriegners building our roads and working at our hotels and the locals refuse to lift a finger to even build a simple toilet for their families.

shame on you people. this mentality of ‘am son of so and so’ will only leave you a poor men in this modern day. WAKE UP!

Development is the essential investment that the South Sudanese should pursue at the moment. I urged those militia followers to join their brothers and sisters in the building of their new Nations instead of seeking for infinite dims in Khartoum. Thanks

    Guys lets be honest,

Which development we should yarn about? Hotel is a development? What about schools, Roads, drinking water and running water, Hospitals and ETC?

It true that it always the money you didn’t worked for it can be use for nonsense things.

the security in Bor is number One instead of Hotel, If George Athor missiles destroy the hotel then what can we says.

The hotel built for the ministers to use it for their private dating. “Denying Culture” wait and see you will find that foreigners are the only employees in that hotel because of the dirty that they will be doing.

Governor!, Deputy governor!, Cabinets!, horrible, what do they realize in this? what development is this hotel bringing to the people of jonglei? this is really a smack on their face, if i were a minister i couldn’t attend because of the shame its depict, visionless topdogs don’t realize it, well, it can be good at better times when we have schools, mention them, but a hotel bringing all this dignitaries including even school children? a picture that this hotel will portray, is a bowl that is clean outside and dirty inside. “Nyani haoni kundule chake”.
