Legge said that the government is putting in place policies “that will regulate the employment of government officials” in order to combat “nepotism and corruption in the state”.
She affirmed that in Lakes state the correct procedures are not being followed by various institution and ministries.
Also she said there are promotions taking place without due consultation from the public services. There are also people being dismissed without due consultation with the public services ministry.
Minister Legge noted that there have been no pay rises for government employees since 2006 which she described as the “wrong procedures”.
