Darfur mediators to brief UN, AU and Arab league over stakeholders conference
June 3, 2011 (DOHA) — Darfur peace mediators will brief the African Union, Arab League and United Nations about the outcome of the Doha stakeholders conference which adopted a framework document for peace in the restive region.
The mediators said this framework document allows the government to sign separate peace agreements with the rebel groups stressing their outcome should be in harmony with each other.
The Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) said will sign an agreement with the government within three weeks. While the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) welcomed the conclusions of the conference saying ready to engage talks on the basis of this document.
The Joint Chief Mediator, Djibril Bassolé, and the Qatari state minister for foreign affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud will travel to New York during the next week to brief the UN chief Ban Ki-moon on the findings of the five day conference.
They will also fly to Addis Abab to meet the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Jean Ping and to Cairo to speak with the Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa.
The mediation is expected to expose them its plans for the next steps during the talks with the three officials.
Sudanese government and LJM delegations are finalizing discussions on the security arrangements and power sharing file with particular concern over the vice-president position.
The ruling National Congress Party accepted to appoint a vice-president during the current term saying for the future the president has a discretionary power allowing him to appoint his deputy according to his own judgment and not only on based geographical criteria .
On the other hand , JEM delegation would engage next week direct negotiations with the Sudanese government. Amin Hassan Omer Sudan’s top negotiator said they expect to conclude the talks with three months stressing on the need to adopt a permanent constitution.

both of U should be together no division on this situation again, not make it as if U are the problem, most of the rest issue will be dealt with when we in the South are free and U will follow Us the next as far as U are concern because your problem will not end from there they are just buying time to see to it that U don’t have to resort to force.
