June 3, 2011 (BENTIU) – A landmine blast ripped off an NGO vehicle on Mayom-Abiemhnom road upon its return yesterday after a mission in the area.
The deadly landmine blast in Mayom County hit a truck belonging to World Relief International There were five people on board including two staff and three local residents.
The Mayom Commissioner Charles Machieng Kuol confirmed that three of them were killed in the blast.
He accused militias loyal to Peter Gatdet forces coming from South Kordofan of planting the landmine
“The incident claimed the life of two girls and one man. Two were seriously wounded and the car belonged to an agency in Bentiu, which was carrying some goods from
Bentiu town to Abiemhnom,,” said Kuol.
Kuol told Sudan Tribune on Friday that he strongly condemns what he called a barbaric act carried out by rebel militias in the area. He accused the militias of terrorizing citizens, looting property and regularly threatening civilian life on roads which are used by agencies assisting the poor and displaced.
The commissioner called upon the United Nations agencies and other international non-governmental organizations to join hands with state authorities to find a peaceful means of solving the Mayom conflict between the Southern Army (SPLA) and the militias led by rebel commander Gadet.
He pointed out that “too many people” have died in the last two months which has seen frequent clashes since Gatdet defection from SPLA in Mayom County.
Both militias and Southern Army (SPLA) are accused by locals of terrorizing the region ahead of an official date of South Sudan’s independence next month.

I think Mayom Commissioner, Charles Machieng Kuol, had to be surmoned to testify infront of state government, SPLM party, and the South Sudan Army (SPLA) for his recent accusation that it’s indeed the three bodies had burned down the villages of Mayom county.
The man seem to be speaking out of clue really because yesterday this commissioner asiding the militiamen as if they where in the area peacefully but the SPLM, the Unity government, and the South Sudan Army were the problems.
Commissioner Machieng Kuol had to resigned or else relieved from the commissioner post.

we really feel nervous when such happens in youngest country in the world, we really apologized to NGO whose its people were killed in the incident hoping that everything gonna by alright immediately after independent SPLA has to dis mental all the rebels in the South for the safety of the citizens of this nation. The cause of all these rebellions in Southern Sudan, especially Unity State is Salva Kiir Mayardit, who is being fed on two percent (2%) oil money by Taban Deng. President Kiir becomes so blind whenever he is paid each month on 2% money by Taban Deng. Surely speaking , President Salva Kiir would not have kept Taban Deng if not because of the peoples monies that has become commercialized to his personal needs.
Look Taban Deng also promised Salva Kiir and the entire community of Warrap State, that the Unity State Refineries would be built in Warrap State with approved ten millions Dollars. In other word Salva Kiir and Taban Deng want to create jobs for people of Warrap, leaving the owners/people of Unity State Jobless. This is the second reason that Kiir keeps/imposes Taban Deng in power for more than six years.
The killings and burnings of villages of Buls Nuer of Mayom in particular is being remoted by President Kiir, directing his governor Taban Deng. President Kiir started shooting and killing many at 1st Lt. General Paulino Matip Nhial. Salva Kiir gave three Military tanks, two Zoos,and many other big guns to Taban Deng governor of unity State. This is to safeguard his income from the 2% oil monies from Unity State.
Bul Nuer representative in all levels of the Government of south Sudan should stop following Taban Deng because of the monies that he usually supply them with.Why do innocent Buls Nuer are being slaughtered by Taban Deng and President Kiir without you reacting, or you are blinded by the cash from Taban .Please you re-think

FYI: Commissioner is never elected but appointed by a Governor. Got it? Regarding effectiveness of Arab Leadership, why are there uprising in the Middle East and North Africa? You are right Dakin,Garang was not a prophet.Everybody know that as undisputed fact indeed.But for how long will the Junubin gonna suffer from negligents from the hands of the oppressors who dominanted and mistreated them?Remember Garang did not went to the bush for his personal gain or interest but to deliver his own native people[ you ] from the burden of slavery where you were voiceless.
Coming to Garang’s vision which you are confused to understand
is comprised of many formulas whereby he managed to achieve our rights and freedom as follows:
1.Self determination which led to referendum which
resulted into independent.
2.New Sudan which consist with South Sudan,Abiei,Blue
nile and Nuba Mountains.that’s New Sudan if you never
knew about what new sudan have been meant since from
inception of arms struggle against khartuom.
3.New Sudan Vision.Which is where you got stuck on.
The new sudan vision was the vision meant for the democratic united sudan whereby the sudan as a whole could have been ruled/governed under federalism as a head states.That means every states has its own sovereignty.
So my friend Garang had done his job of achieving the states of new sudan as you can see today,no doubt about that since it’s a done deal.The only thing left out is the phrase new sudan vision which was cut short by his sudden death otherwise he would have achieved it as well.please look at the video of his arrival in Khartuom to see how he was welcomed by the Jalabas who were in dire need of freedom which they hoped to have been achieved under the term united sudan.Even now most of the northerners are yearning for democratic sudan.

I was responding to mr. Waucity’s meaningless quotes.
However Garang’s freedom struggle according to him was from southernmost point of Sudan that is Nimule to the Northernmost point that is Dongola. This is not unrealistic or too ambitious. It is blind!!!!!
If New Sudan as you put it means Blue Nile and Nuba who had combatants in the Spla than the objectives of the liberation struggle should have been as easy as fighting for Southern Sudan, Nuba and Blue Nile Regions full stop. People of these two regions outside South Sudan are as well victims of this blind vision.
These opposition parties in Khartoum and their supporters that welcomed him could have joined us in the bush if you think that they were pro Garang. I think everybody in Khartoum must have been crazy about seeing this rebel leader and maybe hear him speak. JUST!!
Coming this landmine explosion, massacre of civilians in both Mayom and Kaldak are all the acts of Mr Kiir.
I don’t know what you think about the 2 percent oil money that is being chanelled to Mr. Kiir to keep Taban as the governor of Bentiu against the will of the people.
As you put it that Garang’s new sudan vision was cut short by his death, that is correct but self determination or CPA was not his vision though we should give him some credit for it.
It is also ironical to me given your ideology of a free, united democratic Sudan to be ruled by Garang(a southerner) how you can not broker a brotherly settlement between the Messiriya Arabs and the Ngok dinka over Abyei.
