Kidnapped WFP pilots in Darfur freed
June 6, 2011 (KHARTOUM) – Three Bulgarian pilots held hostages in Sudan’s western region of Darfur since January this year have been released unharmed and moved to the capital Khartoum.
WFP’s regional director in Khartoum, Omar Daudi, thanked the government of Sudan for “the continuous efforts it exerted in securing the release” of the kidnapped pilots.
“The three men appeared in good health condition,” he added.
The kidnapping of the three WFP-contracted pilots, which took place on January 12 near air strip in Um Shalaya area in western Darfur, mirrored another incident in early November when unknown gunmen kidnapped three Latvian crewmen of a helicopter contracted by WFP in south Darfur’s state capital Nyala. The Latvians were released on December 8.
More than twenty-two foreigners were kidnapped in Darfur since March 2008 after Sudan’s president Omar Al-Bashir was issued an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against the background of atrocities committed in Darfur.
All abductees were later freed unharmed amid anecdotal evidence that ransoms were paid to secure their release.
However, WFP stressed in its press release that it did not pay any ransom.

Thanks God that you have really escape the death from ruthless and tyrant leader call Omar Bashir who launched genocide in Darfur and again influenced his guys to always kidnapped the Humanitarian people, Shame on Bashi!
They are always looking at the side of paying ransom to release the captives without giving authenticated reason of detaining or kidnapped the person.
Northern Sudan is a damn Country try to come to South Sudan whereby you will be free and from all inhumane treatments.

The Issue of kidnapping the Bulgarian pilot is not our case because the International Communities will look at it.Bulgaria is one of the Central Powers who started the first World War.Bulgaria is the peaceful country in term of education and also in football which lead the Bulgarians people to be the most successful in life in the whole World.
The kidnapping of Bulgarians pilot will be different in return even if the North part might thinks its easy for them.The killing of foreigner is not simple.Let North see the consequence of applying the killing of innocence people.
Thanks Bulgarians and get overlooking what is there in North Arabs.Bashir is under ICC record and he still committing those crimes in North to kidnapped one of the expertize pilot.
Piloting is not easy work and the International Communities should have to focus on it since Bashir committed war crimes for so many years without response from the International Observers.
We need peace as the Southerners and we invited all the International Observers to participate in this Country,South Sudan.South Sudan ;love her neighbors and with including North to joint us, if they feel like to use Democratic roles instead of Sharia law which is the root cause of war.

I think our boss is having a knid of pressure some where that is why he releases u but wait and see the rest in few days most of his moves are not all that good with us in the South simply because he sees it as the end of his rule.
