W. Equatoria minister of education hails Sudan examination results
July 2, 2011 (YAMBIO) – Western Equatoria’s state minister of education Adel Senderi hailed the performance of secondary schools in the state after receiving the results of the Sudan school certificate examination for the academic year 2010-2011.
Senderi added that the National Lui Girls secondary school performed badly adding that since the school is under the government, he has called for the change of the administration of the school.
He stated that other new centers like Nzara Secondary school and Mvolo are on the verge of meeting their expected performance since this their first time to host the exams.
Presenting the results to the state governor, the minister said he optimistic that “this year’s results will be the best.”
The state governor Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro congratulated the students for their performances citing that in spite limited numbers of qualified teachers they have shown their competence in excelling in education.
“We need to encourage our students to also excel in science subjects,” disclosed Bakosoro.
The governor stressed that education is the key to development. Most Southern Sudanese are illiterate and region is one of the poorest in the world due to neglect from the central Khartoum government and decades of civil war.
As part of a peace deal six years ago South Sudan voted to become independent in January and will officially separate on July 9.
“I will not tolerate employment of unqualified persons in the office, we need right people in the right places,” the governor said.
To be a good business man, he said, you need to have a basic knowledge of business administration.
He encouraged the successful students to be complex and dynamic in school life.
“When you are admitted to any university in other states try to interact with the communities there and know their culture, with that you will be rich in culture,” disclosed the governor.
About 723 students sat for the exams. Of the 594 boys, 483 passed and 111 failed, meaning there was a 81.3 percent pass rate. Out of the 129 girls who sat the exam 115 passed and 14 failed constituting 89.1 percent pass rate.

Great move. Please you should hire more capable teachers instead of rejecting them for the job. There are alot of graduates and undergraduates who want to help our country to invest in education but there are those who deny them for something that i don’t know.

Bravo! WES students, this is what people want to hear from the state, the news that can shock other states. As most of our leaders are illiterate and corrupt, as such they don’t understand democracy and rule of law, we want those students to come up and transform the state into a democratic system and not a system formed of friends, relatives and in-lows.
I hope in then years we will be better.
