Rumbek Catholic Diocese Bishop dies in Lakes state
July 16, 2011 (JUBA) – The Catholic Bishop of Rumbek Caesar Mazzolari died on Saturday in Lakes state according to Father Don Bosco Ochieng the director of Radio Good News.
Fr. Bosco explained that the Bishop the late fell back on his chair in what seemed a total lack of strength, raised his head which fell back beyond the back of the chair, and was clearly gasping for breath with his left hand holding firmly on his chest.
With the help of fathers, sisters and some faithful, Mazzolari was carried to the sacristy and a few minutes later to his room, while a Rumbek-based doctor was called.
Dr. Chan Deng Malual of Rumbek Hospital said that the bishop be brought to the hospital. The late Bishop was driven to the State Hospital where the doctor was waiting. Dr. Chan pronounced the bishop dead after carrying out some basic tests.
However, the catholic diocese of Rumbek has carryout communication with various catholic unit and home of late bishop. Some Bishops of the Sudan Catholic Bishops Conference (SCBC) have been contacted, including the President, His Eminence Gabriel Cardinal Zubeir Wako. The Bishop of Wau, H.L Rudolf Deng Majak is expected in Rumbek this evening. Members of the Comboni Family have also been contacted.
Members of his family in Brescia, Italy, have also been informed.
Funeral arrangements will be communicated later, after liaising with the SCBC and the Comboni Family.

.However, His lordship will be remembered for the services that he had been rendering to all Catholic faiths in Sudan in general particular in Rumbek where he had been serving as a Priest until he became a shop.May the good lord rest him in peace.
We thank Almighty that our late bishop died after seeing a new dawn in our country. And most importantly, may our heavenly father console and comfort all diocesan especially Fathers, Sisters, Brothers and the entire Christains.

It,s seen we may be people punish in Sudan crisis most, because nothings is positive for us in the states. The war is finished while exhausting our leaders, elders and spirituals leaders yet a lake state is pushing back day and night without blessing. Let prayer a lot to god for forgiveness and blessing to people who have faith on us around the world. The death of our bishop particularly we people of lake states is great lost that will not be recovered soon. Bishop Mazzolari present would have very triumph at this time because he had done many things for us. He had create an opportunities of education to our young people of lake states who would have not get education. He seriously teach our young people a word of god up to date of which it wouldn’t be an easy thing to do but his present had willing them to know god. He had trained young people in time when there was no security and appreciation and now we lost him. Brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ let us prayer and remembered him for committable and vounteerly working has for Lakers. Also he helps intruders through our diocese and is important that we can appreciate him. Our father Caesar Mazzolari had been with us for many years telling us word of god in his whole heart. God delegated him to do what he can do and take him in his necessary time. Our father Mazzolari had been abused and suppressed by many people occasionally in southern Sudan and yet he did not give up committing and teaching us word of god. Let remembering him for blessing works because he left civilised society some time ago for the sake of saving us witness and share suffering with us. Caesar will be remembered for his role that he had done in independent of southern Sudan and particularly contribution in education.
