South Sudan bishop calls upon citizen to spurn tribalism

August 28, 2011 (JUBA) – The Archbishop of the Catholic Arch Diocese of Juba, Poulino Lokudu Loro has called upon faithful Christians and others in South Sudan to shun tribalism.
Loro went on to say that “if we don’t shun tribalism, corruption, killing one another, then that will be the end of our lives”, noting that many lives were lost in the struggle for independence and that it is now “time for them to peacefully enjoy the fruits of their struggle.”
He called upon the congregation to pray for peace in South Sudan and work towards stability, with a particular focus upon the problem of cattle rustling.
About 2 million people died in Sudan in the conflict fought over religion, ethnicity, ideology and oil. Most follow Christian and traditional beliefs in South Sudan, while Sudan is predominantly Muslim.
Analysts say that South Sudan, which became independent on July 9, risks becoming a failed state if it cannot control insurgencies and blood feuds that divide its tribes.
This month armed Murle tribesmen reportedly killed over 600 people in Uror county, a Lou Nuer area. The attack is supposed to be a retaliation assault in connection with similar attack allegedly launched by Lou Nuer on Murle in June where hundreds were killed.

Let us hope that,the South Sudanese behave so,and to remember the blood of all our dear ones who sacrifised their life.
There is a bad understanding that satan have planted deeply into most of our leaders as you have stated about TRIBALISM.
Everyone can sing it easly,but can not show the example by action.
Even our leaders dosen’t show us the example,if you go to the president’house:you can only see his tribe mate as his body guards.
If you also goes to the vice president’house,you also see his tribes mate as his guards.
So what does this show to the public???
