September 2, 2011 (JUBA) — The Government of South Sudan on Friday expressed concern over the increasing military activity in the bordering states of North Sudan and called on Khartoum to contain the fighting which began in Blue Nile state on Friday.

This call comes following reports about heavy fighting in involving the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) today. The Sudanese army and the SPLM troops traded accusations of starting the hostilities in a region where tensions between the two sides were increasing since the start of clashes in Southern Kordofan.

Reacting to the event, the South Sudanese minister of information, Barnaba Marial, said his government and citizens were “concerned” about the current military activities in the three transitional areas of Abyei, South Kordofan and Blue Nile and that it would be wise for Sudan’s government to investigate and contain the incident promptly.

He added that the conflicts were “attracting international concern” at the press conference on Friday.

The Sudanese government accused the Juba government of supporting the rebel groups in South Kordofan and Darfur.

The foreign ministry spokesperson said the SPLM-N is politically and militarily part of the ruling party and the official army in the newly independent Republic of South Sudan.

In New York, the UN chief Ban Ki-moon expressed his deep concern over the deterioration of the security situation in Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile states.

In a statement released he urged the Sudanese “parties to immediately cease all hostilities and allow access to the humanitarian agencies to all affected areas to provide vital assistance to the civilian population”.

We ought to unite ourselves especially African tribes;Darfurians, Nubians
and South Sudan tribes to fight against Arabs. The Arabs can’t stop violating our rights without having shown our bravery to them. Time wait for no one believe me or not. Arabs will kill us one by one until they will finish us. Why do we allow Arabs to slay us everyday, is it we are defenseless or what?. African tribes in Sudan, we need to “fight with tooth and nails”.Getting the truth out of Arabs is like getting the blood out of a stone. Good enough African tribes realized the infringement of human right by Arabs.

Excuse me Mr Dinka Dominated SPLM, do you really understand what is going on in Blue Nile? How can you connect this issue of Blue Nile to Nuer community. I thought you should deserve respect to other tribes according to the real Dinka culture. Nuer is one of South Sudan tribes whether bad or good they remain our people. Stop such foolish comment my friend from now onward. In every community, there are good and bad people. So, don’t generalize everybody. write something that will benefit all south Sudanese. The reality on the ground is that SAF attacked Blue Nile, nothing has concerned Nuer or Dr Riak as you thought.

the whole issue why there are all these wars in S.kordufan, Blue Nile, Darfur, and Eastern Sudan, is the IDENTITY ISSUE. How can these pure Africans be forced to accept being arabs? Yes,some of them are Mulsims but they are genetically and aboriginally AFRICANS.Why force someone to be what he’s not?
these regions should be appreciated for accepting Islam as their religion of Worship but they should be respected as Africans by keeping their Native Nubian culture / African cultures and Languages.to solve this problem, the country must accept to be a secular state, religion separate from the state/politics.second, theses people of AFRICAN ORIGIN should be given RIGHT TO SELF-DETERMINATION to decide their own fate, to live as Arab Slaves or free citizens in their own country, just the same formula used by south sudanese.this is the reallity that should be accepted. and by default, the Fugitive AL BASHIR, is NEXT on the list of NATO, after THE WORLD’S GREATESTS DICTATOR, MUAMMAR GADHAFI OF LIBYA.SO stay tuned!

    Rich Dinka and Dinka spla

Your’re right brother. What Dinka dominated spla has been doing on his commands is only to poison the peace between Nuer and Dinka. Just because Lou-Nuer and Dinka killed each others long ago does not mean Nuer and Dinka could hate each other forever. But yes there are bad people in every tribe, foreinstance Dinka dominated spla is bad in dinka. However, I would say Reik is not that bad and if he is becuase of what happened in rebolullion, well then all of our leaders who were governed spla are all bad. There is no single person who could be held responsibe for what had happened.

I like you attitude my countryman. we should stop pointing fingers to others prior to obtaining enough evidence that associate with thier involvement. I’m not a Nuer by any chance, but I lived with them for years, their behavoir respect to each other as well as to none Nuerian had earned my respect and I’m thankful to have them part of the tribes that constitute RSS. Mr Dinka Dominated SPLM, needs a very seriouse lecture about how to treat others in a such a way that he wanted to be treated. Remember, “garbage in garbage out”

    Historian and Identity Advocacy View:

These regions need mutual respect from NCP when it comes to theirs Histories and Identities of origins. Because these regions are mostly having different backgrounds from the rests f the North Sudan. In my view, it is not a good way NCP to force them against theirs wills.
