Sudan’s Al-Hilal loses at home to Enyimba of Nigeria

September 8, 2011 (KHARTOUM) – Sudan’s major football team Al-Hilal has failed to win the qualification slot for the African Champions League semi-final after losing 2-1 on Friday to the Nigerian club Enyimba.

Hilal-2.jpgAl-Hilal took an early lead when its striker Edward Sadomba scored the first goal but the resilient visitors dramatically turned the table on their Sudanese hosts in the second half, scoring two goals which saw them earning maximum points.

With this victory, Enyimba increased its points to 11 from five matches in the premier African club championship, leading them to ride the crest of the four-team Group A regardless of the outcome of the remaining matches.

The humiliating defeat of Al-Hilal in its own backyard in Omdurman may see the team surrendering the second place in the group to Garoua of Cameroon if it wins at home to Raja on Saturday.
